Much ado about nothing, The day he was busted Chapman came on the Pratt & Taylor show and then Pratt apologized again. Then Chapman took the piss out of him when Pratt asked
"what's in the big paper tomorrow Chappy?"
Chapman: "Lots of Stanley Cup Final coverage, NBA Final coverage, some Euro 2008 reading for our Soccer enthusiasts and nothing by Rick Reilly"
I think Pratt is a blowhard and a legend in his own mind, but I don't think the TEAM should fire him...he is the anchor of that Station IMHO, and the drive home wouldn't be the same without his antics either making me howl in laughter or want to drive down to the Station and punch his face in.
He is as close to a shock jock we will ever get in this watered down too-PC market. He does things on the knife edge to draw the ire of people, and at the same time kisses asses when he needs to.
The whole Brian Burke and Jennifer Mathers thing put the TEAM on the map forever, and for that "Mr. Team" forever owes a debt of gratitude to Pratt.
also note how Chapman explained it...He said the journos in E-media don't have to held to the same standard as print, because print is "Public Record"
The Province is a weak sauce paper as far as real news. The Crossword Page and the Sports are the only good stuff in that rag...They have editorialists and journo's write artciles etc and can't seem to decide between reporting news and writing stories...There is a difference, just look back to the sloppy coverage and reporting on the Whitecaps stadium debacle from last month and how many times the Province had to apologize.
