Thumbs up Burnsie and the Ball State Cardinals

Just like I expected. I can see the family resemblence(sp?). He is from the Ballymurphy area of West Belfast.

Default Willy Burns

I suspect his willy is the only thing setting him apart.

And his tan.

Thumbs up Well done, Burnsie.......

Despite Brian Burns' heroic effort, Ball State fell to the number one team in the country. However, BState covered the 16.5 spread only losing by 12. Burnsie's numbers were tremendous against the number one team..

MP:8
FG: 1-2
FT: 0-0
3Pt: 0-0
DefRebounds: 2
OffRebounds:1
Personal fouls: 1
Steals:0
Turnovers:NONE (the guy's a machine)

TOTAL POINTS : 2

Well done, Burnsie. It must be tough for him to carry the team every night with numbers like that.

Go Cardinals

Default Naismith Candidate?

He certainly is in line for Player of the Year honours. Jason Williams and Brian Burns. That has a nice ring to it......

I've heard that you've accomplished much more in less than 5 Captain, if you know what I mean (of course you do). He's a disgrace to your name/exploits.

Yah, I think I know what you're talking about.

Anyway, I got the invitation today in the mail. It's official. Mr. Reed is getting married. Sorry for going off topic but this is major news.....

Action, quick shooter... put your mind in the gutter for a moment and figure it out

Re: Reedy... he's apparently lurking around these parts. I got an email from his bird yesterday saying that if I wanted to bring Kari, I could.

Thumbs up 4-1 Bay-beeeee

Ball St. 81
Austin Peay 60

The Cards move to 4-1 with by laying a 21-point whipping on the Governors of Austin Peay. Brian Burns had an amazing night for the cards, going 100% from the field on 1-of-1 shooting. He also had a rebound in six minutes of action.

It is obvious that Coach Buckley decided to sit his stars, like Burns, for long stretches in this blowout victory. You don't want to waste Burnsian energy on the likes of Austin Peay. Obviously.

Default Thanks, Sensei.....

You beat me to it. Your assessment of Burnsie's playing time in such a lopsided victory is spot on. He needs to play against TOP 25 teams in order for him to step up his game. Nothing wrong with 100% from the field.....

Thumbs up 5-1.....

Live audio broadcast
from: Ball St

Ball St 113, IPFW 89
MUNCIE, INDIANA (TICKER) -- Ball State became the latest team to beat up on winless Indiana-Purdue-Fort Wayne.

Theron Smith set career highs with 29 points and 21 rebounds as the 20th-ranked Cardinals set a John Worthen Arena record for points in a 113-89 rout of the Mastadons.

"We came out very focused today and I was just playing as hard as I could," Smith said. "The ball just seemed to fall into my hands."

Ball State (5-1) posted its third straight victory since losing to top-ranked Duke in the championship game of the Maui Inivitational. The Cardinals scored 52 points in the first half and 61 in the second, breaking the record set in a 111-79 rout of Lynn in the 1994-95 season opener.

"I'm very proud of the points we put up tonight," Smith said. "We came out very prepared."

"Brian Burns had another monster game for us. He scored 2 points, 2 boards, and 2 turnovers. His play has been invaluable this year and we would not be 5 - 1 without him. It must be his West Belfast roots."

With the big boys. They play in the Mid-American Conference in the West division. Divisional play has not started yet but they certainly are playing some powerhouses of late (Elon College, Austin Peay, IPFW - who have a combined record of 8-15). However, they started off their season against the number 3 ranked team(Kansas), number 4 ranked team(UCLA), and of course their only loss, to the number 1 ranked team Duke. They get a good test their next game when they play at Indiana.

Thumbs down

Ball State is on a downward spiral. They are losing more than they are winning now, only because Burnsie has not playing. When will the coach figure out how important he is to Ball State's success?

Default Coincidence? Not bloody likely.

Ball State took over first place in Mid-American West Division with a win over powerhouse, Toledo. Take a look at Burnsie's numbers. Finally, Coach Buckley is figuring out how to use Burnsie's enormous amount of talent.....
