Here is some quick info on the VISL teams: Gordon Head Blazers - this team is good enough to win this tournament. They have a lot of players and most of them are strong and fit, which is helpful in this tournament. Many of these players could be playing at higher level. The one thing that may get them in trouble is their cocky antics. My prediction is they take group A. FC Sagres - this team has some very good players, but not much depth. I would be surprised if they even have eleven healthy guys by the third game. I say third place in group C for them. Vic West VIP Spurs - I'm not as familiar with this team, but the only time I saw them play they were awful, especially the back line. They have a tonne of guys signed, but not many quality players. They had very little competition during the regular season, but beat a few good teams in the league cup to get themselves here, which is no easy task. Since it looks like they are in the toughest division, I think they will be lucky to get a point. Have fun in PG and hopefully a team other than one from the Richmond Sandbaggers League can win. |

As far as I know you just go with who is officially signed on your winter season roster. They did allow pickups from any team in your division 2 years ago because they couldn't find anyone to host it until Chilliwack agreed in July that year, but that was an exception. |

I'm not a big fan of yours but I'll help you out with the Burnaby C team. I heard that they are not the fastest team but very agressive. I know their keeper, good keeper technically but can be beaten in the air. Either way, best of luck, and hopefully we'll play again. And as we know, same result goes my friend . How about this time, u come and introduce ur self

Group D is group of death...LOL I wish I was going up with my guys but I cannot get away from the PCSL even for this weekend...Our other team is on the road in Kamloops and Kelowna and I must take the guys there. Still upset cause I cant be a 2 places at once. Daryl does well with the Div 2 guys so he is the man for the job. We play the Dragons first at 8pm Friday night...After a 13 hour bus ride...The dragons I heard are flying in. Oh well,,,we will givem hell anyways... Good Luck Guys |

Having played against/watched a number of these teams the last couple years, here's my preds: A- Gordon Head (purely based on heresay) B- PoMo C- All-Blacks D- Dragons Dragons to beat GH and All-Blacks to beat Pomo in the semis. All-Blacks v Dragons final. Winner is the one with the least # of injuries to the starting 11.
I'M ALL IN.

Good God no. I have to put in a nod for ACBC and Pomo from the FVSL side. In all the years of sending div. 2 squads, these two may be the best prepared in terms of roster, fitness, and skill. Would not be surprised to see either in the final. Plus, ACBC is having a nice season...sure Ghouse would love to add to the club trophy case. I suspect the Ditchmond teams will have the advantage of experience...as I understand there are a lot of former VMSL Premier players sandbagging it over there. |
