Question... what's the calibre of this league compared to other summer leagues? Do I have to be Greek to play? I like Greek salad does that count?

Girth, the caliber is actually quite good...........when all the cast of characters show up. The demise of the Italian League has benefitted the Greek League. Each team is allowed to sign 3 (4?) imports.

I love Greek salad also. You aren't one of those guys who states they love Greek salad minus the feta cheese and kalamata olives are you?

I love feta cheese although I'm not too big on Kalamata olives so I guess I am one of those guys. The restaurant I go to in Maple Ridge has fantastic food but sometimes gets over shadowed by the female server that has arms as hairy as an ape? Nothing worse than having to pick black arm hairs from what was a great salad.

How?

Each team is allowed three imports.
There is a no-slide rule in effect (which I LOVE...as do my ankles)
The calibre varies on each team...some teams have 250lbs 50+ year olds starting...others have 6-7 premier players starting at any given time.
Like Ballbaby said...it really depends if everyone shows up.

All in all, it is a well run summer league with three officials at every game.
If the weather cooperates, the smell of lamb roasting on an open flame is enough for even you to say OPA!

Like who?

The Italian league had an import rule as well.
The only player I know who could play in both leagues without using an import position is Marco Miroslavic.

I find it strange that you have an import rule? What's the point of it...is it because you don't have enough players to make a team?

No, there are plenty of players who want to play. It is just some of them should take up rugby instead...

Having an import rule allows you to keep the league ethnic while increasing the level of play.

Ouzo 8 - Olympiakos 1

Great start to the year for us.

8 goals, which included two hat-tricks from our starting strikers....nice to see.

We had burgers and heines after the game and celebreated in style.

For some on the team, two burgers weren't enough...and a McDonalds Snack Wrap Run was in order. Surprisingly enough, it wasnt me.

A sloppy game for us really, despite the scoreline...and we will improve as the year goes along.

AEK beat up on Panonios...4-0
Should have been 5, but Alex missed a PK (nice pass back) and cost me $$$

Not sure about the 2pm and 4pm games.
