West Van defeated Freybe 2-1 tonight. The Eagles/Spada combo in net outplayed two-nine in this one.

Final Four (in no particular order) will be:

WVFC
Vikings
NorVan
Coveside

Coveside have taken a page out of the WV book and have defaulted early. Wise move.

Warriors vs Bulldogs 0-3
NAFC vs Malones 2-3
Seymour vs Vikings 0-4
Lynn Valley vs Coveside 2-3
Guardians vs Norvan 1-4

WV has a bye this week.

One other prediction: at least one game ball will go missing at Griffin.

So far this week, staff are reporting that Malones, which has some Wickham guys on the team, beat Norvan, who also have some Wickham guys on the team, 2-1. I also think that Vikings, who have some West Van FC guys on the team, defeated Coveside, who have some Nordic guys on the team, 4-2 last night.

And Thursday eve's WVFC victory had a few rare occurences:

Eagles made several quality saves on his way to a shutout, JAGS scored, and Dickens made his season debut. He took the train to the game. See below.

So we are playing Malones (OK enough about last Sunday's birthday party). In our game last night, the two bearcubs are in fine form, getting lots of scoring opportunites. Bear cub #1 Dickens scores after Franks undresses several opponents and lashes a low cross that the cub calmly buries. Moments later, after a bit of a scramble inside the Malones penalty area, the ball spits out to JAGS, who hammers it just inside the post, about 4 feet off of the ground, and it is labelled. Dickens them purposely deflects it in from an offisde position. Offside: and Dickens thinks depriving the other cub of a goal is the funniest thing that has happened all week...

Give me strength.

WVFC (1) vs Lynnn Valley Azteca (4). Dickens is out for this one not being not fit after his four minutes at Nations Cup last weekend.

Freybe Vikings (2) vs NorVan (3)

Winners play off a week tomorrow.

The final is this coming Thursday at Sutherland (brand new turf field, very nice) at 8, #2 Freybe (who defeated Norvan in the semi) vs #1 West Van (who defeated Lynn Valley in the other semi).

Then off to Kamloops the next day...
