So,

Nomads (most of us anyways) got to K-Town Friday afternoon, just in time to hit the Patio at Joey's, Wow. "Supersonic Gin and Tonics" are LEGENDARY!

The last crew of 4 roll in after going the scenic route (We still haven't figured out why it took them 9 hours + to get to Kelowna, XrestricedX will have to fill you all in) And we hook up with them at Cheetahs, then roll to Gotchas.

Everyone wakes up Saturday Morning still drunk or mightily hung over to go play our first game in diabolical heat. We play the team from Grande Prairie really well, but some incredibly suspect officiating paired with Suspect coming off his line by our keeper, and some missed sitters ended up with us losing 4-1.

Second game against Victoria Warriors (Looked like Aldergrove to me ) we end up winning 6-4

Go out and get annihilated again Saturday evening to play bright and early Sunday morning at 9:30am. After going down 2-0 on two free kicks (Apparently Obstruction is a direct free kick in the Interior ) we gut out a 3-2 win over Okotoks.

Watch the Clona Rehab score thier first goal of the tourney and head into the gardens to see the results come in...

There was a clear first place winner on 9 points, and a clear second place winner on 7 points (2 wins and a shootout loss) and then Vic/Aldy Warriors, Us, and Okotoks all tied on 6 points for the final 2 spots in the semis.

We figure we are through easily since the rules on the scoreboard says Head to head is first tie breaker and Goal Differential is second tie breaker.

Grant, the tourney organizer, says sorry guys you are out since they "Cannot use head to head since Okotoks did not play Victoria. We had a 0 GD, one team had a GD of +6 and the other +4. So of the 3 teams we played all went through and we beat two of them, go figure.

Grant was good enough to scoop a handfull of beer tokens out for us and apologized, saying the groups will be round numbers etc next year...

Still a good weekend, and although it sucks to not play more than the three games guaranteed, we know we would have won the damn tourney since the team we beat was in the final and we were stomping them in the game we won 6-4.

The standard of officiating up there is simply shocking though. Gaz from the Lizards/Athletics apparently talked to the guy that used to allocate the officials up there, and he said he was not contacted or contracted for this year, and many of the refs weren't carded, or have been doing youth for the last while, or whatever....It was terrible though....like 10 yards onside throughballs being called offside, obstruction being given direct free kicks, and penos after lengthy discussions with 13 year old boy linesmen.

Tourney was a blast... Won't go into details on the rest of the weekend, except to say: stay off the waterslide at the Fairfield Inn & Suites
