| Premium Member A Better Bastard | Apparently, because of ongoing construction work to build a new Turf Complex, the number of entrants has been dropped from 120 to 84. A lot of teams that put their money in prior to last Friday's deadline have been denied a spot. Any teams that are short should be able to fix that in a hurry as their are lots of people that are in the position of L.(eft)R.(ight)O.(ut). |

QUOTE] Ouch, as long as they don't lower their liquor order they will be fine. what teams are out? what teams are in? The Conglomerate of Peace Arch/Surrey Rangers/North Delta Lions/Delta Highlanders/Surrey United are sending the usual crew, with a few missing, but a few great pickups to fill the missing spots. I heard the Dragons are out, due to lack of numbers, but that was last thursday, so who knows what the word is now. jtglookingforwardtothebestyearyetattheloopstourney |

| Not too bright BANNED | That would suck for those who get turfed. Our money was in to them in March so i will assume all is well. The Blaze , City Fc Ranger and Tsawwassen Royals all have seperate entries into the tourney along with the team that i have put together for my buddies stag. Joely, same hotel as last year??? I'm back there this year as i believe there is very few ways to get the boot from that place and it is close to all the downtown amenities. 36 teams are left in the cold. Is the dance still open to all the people 120 teams includes. That and the beer garden is enough reason to go. Actually it might make the weekend better not having to play soccer. Straight drinking in beergarden, no worrying about who is in good enough shape to play etc. |

| Premium Member A Better Bastard | I think with the glut of excess entries the selection process was based on previous attendance. Those teams who had been up the previous year got the nod. There was probably a good amount of eeny meeny miney mo going on too. Entrance or not I think the call of wild, I mean beer garden is going to attract a whole lot people... |

| Member | Very sad if this is true. It's the new comers who I really feel sorry for. Kamloops is an incredible right of passage for a young person. Our grandfathers had world war 2 or Korea. We had Kamloops. Were we heros? I don't know, we were just doing our jobs I guess. Time and time again we did our duty but when we got back did they throw us a parade? Did they give us a medal? Did they fcuk. We're not bitter, we just think that they ought to build a memorial somewhere, (perhaps next to the Draft dodgers memorial) tocommemorate our many sacrifices. |

| Member | OH Muchkin.... I'll have to take you under my wing in Kamloops..... I'm still pissed about ending up in some sh*thole stankin bar because we were late getting to Rivers.... just couldn't pull myself outta the beer gardens.... Can't wait to cramp Stepchild's style (ha ha ha ha Stepchild & style in the same sentence.... how ironic!) in Kamloops! Spazz whoStepchildwouldlovetostayhome |

| Member | Spazz: It's not that we would really want you to stay home, it's just that we want to see some pix of some of the other attendees, too. Bonefish: Sucks to be us, too. We got "Moe'd" in the selection process, despite being in the gong show 7 years in a row, and me buying the organizer several friendly pints when I was up there in Feb. A number of our guys will still be going up, with the intention of either going back to their own teams, or just to hang in the garden. I have to go anyway, because it's my weekend to visit family there, but it really sucks for anybody who was diligent and made hotel reservations and is now SOL.Jinx: You deserve your own monument for your contributions towards the Great Struggle. I guess Downtown deserves something too, but I'm not sure what... beerZ, stew ![]() |

| Member | Ya spazz, not happy about having to put your room on my credit card either. Looks like the Highlanders will have many coaches up there this year, not sure on how many players though. Maybe we can play more than 3 games this year, then again.............. 8 more sleeps until another 'tour of duty' in the loops. I love serving my country! ![]()

| Not too bright BANNED | It's the executive Inn actually. I foresee Rivers, Cactus Jacks and Rota's in the weekend. Last 2 years Rotas has had 4.99 steak sandwiches on for the weekends. Stew, Did you find out via e-mail or a phone call you were not allowed to play this year? Hopefully it was a phone call. |

| Member | Army: emailed, with the proviso that "we were on the waiting list, if anything changes...." Not fun.... Like I said, I'll be up there anyway, and already have a free (less the cost of the beer I have to buy my brother) place to stay, so it's not as much of a pain for me, but for others, yeeesh... in search of lunch already, stew ![]() |

| Premium Member A Better Bastard | Mobility aka the bridesmaids/runner-ups I have managed the team for the last 5yrs and this was our best season to date. It is amazing the difference, having a full lineup including subs makes... Last edited by bonefish; 07-20-2005 at 12:23 PM. |

| Member | Yeah, an amazing difference, but you still finished second.. Got a phone call last night that we have been reinstated (apparently we had to say "Yes" so some team from Fort St. Wank would say "Yes" as well, so little Robby has a balanced schedule ). I guess they figured out that without us, consumption in the beer garden would have taken too much of a hit. Next problem... any goalkeepers heading up there looking for a team to play for? We lost ours in the on/off shuffle. Wouldn't have minded the keeper we had last year, who had great skills, but off the pitch he needed to be kept in a rubber room, so the team voted him off the island.... Team Pylons back in, stew ![]() |
