Smyl's record as a Head coach was abysmal in Syracuse and then Winnepeg. He then has developed how many kids since taking over player development?  |

The Canucks have developed talent and yes, Stan's record as a coach is less than spectucular but you have to admit that Randy Caryle did a great job with the Moose and with Anaheim including developing some good Canuck talent. Maybe the scouts like Ron Delorme are around because they identified good talent but the GM's and HC's just went with other picks over the years. Who knows Gillis might do them all in after the draft regardless just to put his own stain on the organization. | |

Some high picks that had a cup of coffee in the bigs: Josh Holden, Zenith Komarniski, Harold druken, Ryan Bonni, Larry Courville, Chris Mcallister, Rob Grodon, Rick gerrard, Rene Vydarny, Thatcher Bell, Fedor federov, Kirril Koltsov, Denis Grot, Lukas Mensator, Marc-Andre Bernier, Daniel Rahimi, Michael Grabner, Just a list of First to Third Rounders in the last 15 years that haven't "Made the Cut" guys in flux: White, Hansen Look at the current roster, how many of them were Nucks drafts? Kesler, Sedins, Bieksa, Ohlund, Raymond, & Edler. 7! Wow, there is some development. Keep in mind that the Player development role is to coach the players on lifestyle, habits, how to deal with their amateur or minor league coaches, helping them enlist trainers for off season activitites, coaching etc... Now compare against the last Cup Finalists, or Division Rivals....You will see why Smyl got the "Demotion" He is lucky to be getting a pay cheque if you ask me. He and Ron Delorme should have been sent packing together a long time ago. That is the sum total of the current roster (keeping in mind that Linden was retired, but was acquired recently by trade, and Bourdon has just passed away) (Nobody could have missed on Linden and Bourdon was not tracking along as well as expected) Last edited by johnnybluenose; 06-20-2008 at 02:44 PM. |

They never gave a guy a chance.Few games and only on the booter lines. Sadin brothers could use the guy now.Michael Grabner will be here very soon. Maybe even this year. You just wate and see. The club should trade for a guy like Nick Drazenovic. He is in Peooria river Rats. We have to add more BC guys to bring the fun and more drive. Onother guy that would do well with twins. He can play on the wing or in the midle and can scate.He will never go anywhere with the club that drafted for him. |
