Default Wellwood a Canuck

Canucks have picked up Kyle Wellwood off of waivers today.

A qualifying offer is all it takes to keep him from becoming a UFA in a week (I think).

2 years ago, he got 44 points in 48 games.

Good deal?

He played on the Leafs so that alone speaks on his talent

Really though this is a great pick-up as he is a great young player with loads of potential!

He also has like 14 pim in 3 seasons... so he's a bit of a pufter.

Either that or he's really disciplined.

54% Faceoff circle guy, which although seeming not impressive, should help.

Some good action today on the market with lots of "rights" being traded around....

No canuckle deals.... Malone and Roberts are moving on, as is Rolston? Tampa is making some strong moves.

Edmonton also moved Stoll for Mr QuickLube Visnovski.

Canucks have added bit more size on D line. Rob Davison was the latest addition on D line. Six foot three inch two twenty that's ok. Rob is only twenty eight years old he could play few years here if it all goes well. He would be seventh or eight guy on the chart. Stay at home guy.

If you are the seventh or eighth guy on the d-line you should stay at home.

That's like being the third keeper on a division 3 soccer team.

What can you say, he is six foot three and two twenty they will need his help down the line.I do not think McIver is going to give his spot to anybody. McIver will fight hard for a spot on the top club. You never know what Gillis is going to do. So far it is simple bigger and stronger.
