Default How much money is the Captain going to make when he starts gambling again?

Is the Captain going to make killing when he starts up with Will Hill in September?

I think he has the potential to make a living at gambling as long as he stays away from the multiple bets and follows the betting style of Saint.

I don't know how much he'll make but the hiatus certainly puts a damper on this forum for the community launch...

Thus, I have come up with this idea...

I'll open up a Willhill account and deposit $50... each week, TTP will make a couple of bets based on what people think would be the safest bet to increase the total... perhaps it could be done through the use of polls or something.

Of course, CDK can always be the resident gambler as well during the Captain's downtime.

    Thought's?

That's actually a good idea, Regs!!

It will also get more people involved with this thread....

I may be joining the Captain if none of my ten bets I made for tommorrow win.

First bet is on what will happen if a certain cricketeer or a certain soccer 'player' try to register on the new community...

I guess I should open that account eh?

Over the weekend... maybe the Captain or CDK or Luch can give us a good selection to mull over in the meantime...

Lightbulb Never mind the fcuking weekend

    TB,

I have a double that will get your(TTP's?) account off to a flying start.

Aston Villa (1.40) and Herenveen ( 1.53 ) who are both at home and need to win to move to the next round of qualifying.

BTW, where the fcuk does someone get a flag around here?

    Default Opening an account

    TB,

    (1) If you intend on betting on soccer? I suggest you open an account with Ladbrokes.

Labrokes offers handicap betting which will eliminate those irritating draws.

I will be signing up with them for the new season.

    (2) As much as I respect the Captain's soccer knowledge...don't ever bet against a Croatian team unless I give you the 'OK' to do so.

    (3) I'll research the win for you tonight...may as well, I'm not doing anything else tonight.

    Default Corection

I think I'm confusing Ladbrokes with GAMEBOOKERS...

That's it! Gamebroker's. Forget that I said Ladbrokes.

A good bet would have been Jasper Parnevik at 4/1 to place.

I know hindsight is 20/20 and all but I forgot we were going to try this idea. Crackin' idea it is BTW.

My auld man is on a roll after the Guissen bet and he picked this either way.

JP is 40/1 to win and 4/1 to place.

We'll see how it goes and then maybe Dad will lend his skills.

Good luck to the Celts this morn.

It's pretty much the same bet that won me $200 last week...it will not win that much this week.

    1860 Munich V Rkc Waalwijk
A German club vs an Islandic club in Germany. Easy pick! Confidence: 10/10

    Paris Sg V Tavriya
PSG has the big name player's....I've never heard of Tavriya. Should be a win for PSG
    Confidence: 8/10

    Heerenveen V Basel
Herenveen is a much better club on paper. Swiss teams are known for being crap when they are the away team.
    Confidence: 7/10

    Newcastle V Lokeren
I know Newcastle has a four goal cushion and can afford to lose this game by a couple...but if a team can give up 4 goals at home, they must be shite.
    Confidence: 8/10

    Default RKC Waalwijik

    CD,

I like your picks of course, but I think RKC Waalwijk is a Dutch team. This might change your 10/10 rating for predicting this victory. As for the other 3 matches, they are spot on. Add them to Aston Villa to beat the Croatian farmers and you have yourself a winner......

I knew there was a reason I woke up so bloody early.

    Default You're right, Jinky.

    Jinky,

It is hindsight. We should have taken Monty to be leading after the first 2 rounds. Parnevik has been VERY inconsistent this year and he has had problems with his back, having to withdraw from 2 tournaments already. He has been playing on the PGA Tour more this year, which doesn't help when playing in Lynx style courses. Having said that, he is playing extremely well right now.

Remember, if my Aunt had balls she would be my Uncle.

P.S. Padraig Harrington fired a brilliant 66 yesterday to vault him into contention. McGinley and Clarke aren't too far off either. Are we going to see an Irish champion this year? It certainly would be an excuse to consume a few jars on Sunday.....

Always follow the Captain's bet on a saturday... Herenveen lick's sheep testicles! (sorry, Ballbaby)

    Tomorrow's winner.

I may even give you a winning baseball pick...later.

I guess I should give you a reason to bet on these teams.

    Brann V Tromso
Brann is unbeaten in their last 6...Tromaso in second from last in the standing's.

    Viking V Moss
Viking is in 2nd place, Moss is in 9th. That's all.

    Brondby V Agf Aarhus
Brondby is the "glamour team" of Demark and is a couple of points behind first. Aarhus is in 10th out of 12 teams.

    Rovaniemi P S V Hjk Helsinki
    Just because.
