And, one of my favorite lenses is a super wide angle 10-22mm lens. This one is outstanding for traveling as you can take pictures of buildings/landscapes up close and get a very wide angle on it.

i am also looking to replace my basic casio digital camera. i mostly it @ footy tournaments .i want to be able to take a shot when a player is running,shooting or the goali making a save . also a wide lens to take team group photos. which slr camera is best @ these type of sports action shots .
i,m not a photographer so i don,t wanna be changing lenses etc. i want a camera where i can just use the same lens .
grateful for any advice .

get the rebel xti kit which i bought, great for beginers and don't really have to upgrade if you are not going to get serious. Those lenses will have you set, the 18-55mm lense is also wider than your standard.

The standard 28-135 mm lens will be pretty good for everything, not great for either, but you are asking for two different things (fast shooting while zoomed, wide angle for close up).
