Default Nearest hotels which are near Burnaby Lake

It appears someone has bollocked up the hotel arrangements for the upcoming provincials......we were told we would be staying at the Executive PLaza on North Road(great location) but then told today nothing had been booked by the tournament...SOOOOOOOOOOO

we need a hotel which has some decent restaurants/shops for the girls and we need the field to be fairly close. We're playing on the turf fields at Burnaby Lake. Also, it would be handy if the price was around $100.....any ideas that anyone knows off-hand?

If in doubt, do the dorm thing up at SFU Captain. Cheaper, and a bit of a different experience for them.

Cappy:

For your $100 budget, you're not going to see a heck of a lot, but try these as options...

1. Lake City Inn as per Polska - at least it has a pool. North side of Lougheed across from the bowling alley (Revs aka Brentwood Lanes). Closest to the fields.

2. Executive Inn on Lougheed (behind Tim Horton's, west of Brentwood) fulfills the shopping request, and is close to the Shark Club (this is the one that people get shot at).

3. A splurge: the Hilton at Metrotown. Shopping heaven for the girls.

4. Failing that, Daemonspawn #1 has offered up his room to share with the girls (what can I say - the boy's ambitious). He says to tell them that "he plays soccer too..."

I still fancy the North Burnaby Inn, even though the entertainment is not what it used to be, you still get all the great shopping of Hastings. There is the Liquor Barn for coaches, and even the odd Relaxation Center for after games.

Well under $100, for a week.

Accent Inn next to Bridge Movie Studios.

No Shops, but an ABC Restaurant on site, and SubWay/McDonalds across the street.

Also try the Villa. It is a Delta Hotel now. Not far from the Lake. Just a quick drive down Canada Way. Canada Way and Willingdon freeway exit. Also features a McDonalds across the highway. For the adults, nice Greek restaurant just West on Canada Way plus there was a good sports bar in the Villa itself. Equidistant between Brentwood Mall and Metrotown so shopping abounds.

And a short drive to Bosas near the dealerships on Boundary Road where you can get your Italian cold cuts...in case MCD's doesn't work for the team.

In that case- Captain- Earl's Lounge and the Cactus Club, both stumbling distance from your digs.

Nice places to have a pint, and observe the fine help.
