Don't miss your chance to see Dude in spandex. What? https://www.kintera.org/faf/donorReg...upId=251350984 Ride2Survive: Pedalling time: 15 hours Distance: 400 KM Climbing: 12,000 feet Days to complete: 1 www.ride2survive.ca Quote:
I need help to meet and exceed my fundraising goals, so here's the scoop...sponsor me for either a little or a lot, and you get: ~A photo of me in tight spandex that you can use for blackmail the rest of my life. ~Unlimited, unedited, untouched, and uncontested piss-taking on me, in this thread. ~My heartfelt thanks. ~A spot on my body. Pardon? Well, many of the veteran riders of the ride2survive started a tradition of writing the names of "Angels" on their arms and legs…an Angel being someone close to you that has suffered from this disease, in one way or another. This way you're not only sponsoring me, but I'm working on the behalf of your Angel. How cool is that? With your contribution comes a digital photo of your Angel's name, which will be written somewhere on my legs or arms...so when I'm suffering, I will look down and get a stiff reminder as to why I'm doing this insane event. Besides, let's get real...one day of suffering for me doesn't compare to the millions out there suffering from the real thing. Hook a brother up. And thanks. ~Mike. Yeah, following the advice of the coaches, plus my own stuff. Back in "the day" when I raced, I'd think nothing of knocking off a couple of 100 KM plus road rides over a weekend. Three weeks ago I went out for my first century (110 actually) since about 22 or so, and felt great...till KM 85. Then I hit this wall. The last 15 KM was a reminder of the cruelty of age and time separation in an endurance sport. Last weekend we did the same route...I ate a bunch before, and during, and felt relatively fresh after. So...coming along slowly. |

I agree Regs. I am truly humbled by these donations. A lot of these aren't chump change by any means. That being said, I'm going to be even more annoying and beligerant than normal, and keep bumping this thread. And picture this...there is a damn good chance that by the time I roll into Hope, I'll be crying in self pitty, and by Mission looking for a ditch to die in. I'm talking real, big, poor me tears. If that image brings a smile to your face, you owe the Canadian Cancer Society a few bucks. https://www.kintera.org/faf/donorReg...upid=251350984 |
