Franchise: put Hector on a leash so he dosen't rush the field in hopes of meeting Girth.

we have some great pickups and are stronger at every position.
even though thats the thought every year, this year looks like the correct moves have been made.
i guess we will find out on sunday.

GEU Tigers - 1 Poco City - 1

Fairly decent game with each team having chances to win it.

Poco scores first off a good header on the counter attack which caught our boys up the park. GEU hit a couple cross bars but trailing at the half.
Second half Poco player on a breakaway I challenged and took the foul and the yellow...penalty shot. Guessed right to make the save on the penalty and our boys fought to get the equalizer after that.
Our team looked tired at times but I thought played good defensively.

Anyone have any scores from Friday night matches, if there were any?

Never mind, apparently Girth was two minutes quicker with his post! Any other scores?

Pylons 2 - WRU 2

We were all hung over, the ref was against us, the sun was in our eyes the whole game, our shoe laces broke before the game started so we had to play in socks....oh and their 2 goals were off-side.

Rams 2 Poco 1

Slow start, we were down early but turned it on after about 20 minutes. Second half was completely one sided in favor of us. Good start to the season.

I am going to throw-up the fireball now

To start off, missing 2 starting D's to suspension and 24 hour flu, then 4 of our new signings are morons and didn't bring photo ID to the game. Good start. To be fair, they only had 11.

Whalley 5 - Aldergrove 1

Good start to the season for us, Aldergrove's keeper is outstanding, the game would have been 10-1 without him. 2 great saves off me, plus 1 off basically every other player on the pitch. He's going to win them some games. We really need to work on our finishing, 35+ shots with a couple gimme's in the 6 missed, it's going to cost us in closer games.

Please stop with the excuses, it doesn't look good.

Excuses were a joke, forgot to add the
No goals for me, although both my shots were on net so it's a moral victory. Can't wait for week 2.

Good job on your first win in Div2 Stallion, beating an Aldergrove team is never easy they always play tough. I guess the Whalley strikers are the team to beat in Div2 B?????

Oh Great game Shaven you held the backline together when the Captain went off. Franchise played the best I've ever seen him in the First half second half was ok. all in all a good result. the Rams have never won the first game of any season in our brief five year history. good job boys.

Might be the sun stroke I got.....honest to god I have been throwing up for the past 4 hours. I knew I was fukced at half time. I didn't think it would be that hot out today. Sorry about the second half, I was pulling for you to stay in as I felt sick. On to next week, honestly should have a hatty today though.

I wonder if the Poco goalie has seen the shot yet that Matty blew by him

Anyone know about this Langley Wolves team????

They were the Langley U21 teams last year - finished 3rd. Lost a pretty close game 2-0 to the SFC Bullets in week 1.

I heard that this Bullet team is pretty chippy?

We also beat a good team today, they will be near the top of the table

They must have been missing key players as they didn't play tough at all. It's only been one game, and we haven't played anyone else, maybe after next week we'll see if we're the "team to beat"

Very chippy, many of our players the happy recipients of elbows from them. They really only have 2 threats, a former premier guy (he's like 39 now) up front, very hard to stop and a hot head on the outside who is very fast, loves to throw the elbows, but any physical play gets him off his game (played him twice, 2 red cards). Back line is slow but very good in the air and surprisingly hard to break down. They'll give a lot of teams trouble this year.
