Default MOTW #15 - FVSL Div. 2

My MOTW is the top-of-the-table clash in 2C between ER Hades and the Port Moody Lions. In their first meeting this season, Hades came out on top 1-0. In their last three league matches, they are, respectively, 1-2 and 2-1, but I feel the advantage must lie with ER as they have played higher quality opponents in their last three than Port Moody, including a tight 0-1 loss to Whalley. Not sure where this game will be played, as its marked for ER Main, but not sure if the new turf pitch is ready to go yet out there. Prediction: ER 2 - 1 Port Moody.

2B's nomination is a no-brainer IMO, as the (mighty?) Hurricanes blow in to play Columbia. As much as it pains me to do so, I have to give the nod to the 'canes in this match. Columbia appears to have the defence to hold the 'canes to 3 goals or less, but not the offence to score 3 or more, which is what they'll need to gain 3 points this weekend. Prediction: Hurricanes 3 - 2 Columbia.

2A's match is a bit of a guilty pleasure, but also a relevant one. ND Titans versus WRU on the turf at Mackie. The Titans will be looking to avenge their earlier 3 - 1 loss to WR on the familiar turf, while WR will be playing its first turf match of the season. Both squads have been in good form in their past few matches, and the Titans will be hungry for 3 points as they are merely a point back of NDFC at the top of the table but are down two games. ND can ill-afford to drop any points at all from this match, as failure to gain the victory will likely hand the division to NDFC completely. WRU will be hungry for the three points as well, as with ND they are the only other team to have played 12 matches, and with the standings so tight still have their sights on a top-four division finish.

Vote lads, and share your opinions!

I think it might be our playoff game that is going to be on Saturday night on the turf in Albion at 7pm. Then our well rested team must play the high flying Whalley team the next day at 12......word on the street is we don't have a keep for sunday.....I really wanted a crack at these guys with a keep we lost 3-1 in November without a keep then either. Good team don't get me wrong but no better then any other team in our division.

Watch out for the Div 2c teams in cup.

PS....I do believe Suburbanator owes me a case of beer.....I did predict they would be out in the first round about 3 months ago.

Do you expect sympathy for having to play two games in one weekend. If your teamates and yourself can not play two games in one weekend then do not call yourselves soccer players. Also your the self proclaimed franchise, so what does it matter if your starting keeper wont be there on sunday, you should be able to outscore whalley by yourself. My personal prediction for you guys this weekend is a win to stay alive in the cup saturday, but a loss in a one sided affair on sunday against whalley.

I'd like to speak for Franchise and say, firstly, learn the difference between you're and your!!! Not too hard to tell you're from Surrey, mon amie...Secondly, I think that's a trade-off that Franchise and his mates will gladly take this weekend, as their season's not going to amount to much more than it already is anyway, so the Cup is likely a more important goal for them now anyway...simmer down, Franchise, I'm not dissing you or your squad. (pre-emptive calming of Franchise )

Hey shaven i'm sorry for not spell checking my reply before posting it. For most people this site is about soccer related issues, but since your team isn't very good, i understand why all you can talk about is spelling mistakes. Hey if we didnt have you here checking the spelling on everyones replies, there would be utter chaos. So i just wanted to thank you, and of course i have to thank your team for giving you nothing else to talk about.

Here I'll clear this Franchise thing up for everyone......not that you Hurricanes clowns matter anyway but here goes....It has nothing to do with soccer one bit.....it was a named my baseball team gave me for driving in the most runs last year....enough said......I couldn't think of a cool nickname on here like 08star or dude or even hurricane power didn't cross my mind at the time.

On to better things....Whalley never controled us the first game and I will state now they won't again this weekend. They are a good sqaud but like I said no better then anyone on our except maybe peace arch!!

Better concentrate on your own game though looks like you have your hands full yourself this weekend!

Why is it when you get pissed on, you must come back and post some weak swipe at my squad? No-one has come on here and said my squad isn't very good, quite the contrary actually, but thanks for paying attention. Oh, and as you haven't noticed, I talk about plenty of issues here, mainly soccer related, and none of my posts involve weak and ill-informed swipes at other guy's squads. Before you go pointing out that I've taken shots at the 'canes, and I have, read back and you'll find that I've qualified all my piss-takes at your squad with personal experiences and other such well-informed knowledge. You and your mates talk a lot of smack on here (that's s-m-a-c-k, not s-m-a-k ), so you open yourself up to criticism if you can't even post a three or four line piss-take using fairly common English grammer. I can recommend a couple of good English profs, if you'd like to bone up over the summer season.

On a soccer note, any word if you're playing POCO this weekend, part of a Cup/League double header, and any thoughts on your match against Columbia?
