| Member | Well, just got off the phone w/ my big ASS (anonymous soccer source). My little ASS is out on the Shushwap right now, presumably taking in bottles of beer w/ Rangerforever. I’ve always wondered what exactly the fascination Ranger has with my little ASS. My big ASS is in a right tizzy today, backed up with all sorts of good stuff that it’s dying to spew, but can’t due to details not yet being solidly nailed down. The ASS did offer up the following chunks of clarifications: - 7 of 10 former CAT Clubs accepted spots to Div. 1. Up to those clubs to field div. 1 caliber squads. - Storm are officially folded (thus Pomo promotion, due to Raiders and SFC refusing promotion, and the league feeling that DFC Bottled their chance, and new blood is needed). This started the chain reaction of the re-shuffle. - Being that a 16 team div. 1 doesn’t work, they decided they needed to shore up the numbers. - The number of 20 teams was decided as being what they’d run with. - Celtic & DMU div. 2 refused promotion. Celtic, as Guru posted, are happy where they are. DMU, assume it is because several of them committed to the Highlanders for the season already. - As they go down the list, Pomo Gunners, TSU Royals and Columbia Bearcats were offered promotion, and have apparently accepted. - Abby U-18 Metro (Provincial Champs, apparently) applied for and were granted Div. 1 spot. - The idea of a div. 4 was tabled by my ASS, and subsequently shat on. - Pun intended. - SFC Peg is making a return from VMSL, and will be placed in 2nd division. As my ASS explained, the folding of the Storm created a trickle down effect of issues. I will also offer that by not allowing a 4th division, the league creates another problem for itself. If shit can’t flow downhill, where will it end up? That’s right, polluting the surface. That said, the execs can’t really be blamed fully for this. The clubs, and more specifically teams, themselves apparently are resisting this move. I agree w/ Pomo being slotted in where they are, as well as accepting Abby’s application. We need to keep good, young players here, and this is a win for the Valley. Especially considering Pomo is located right in Willy Azzie’s backyard, we need to see the bigger picture. Personally, I would have Peg up in 1st instead of either Columbia or TSU. Also, would prefer to see two sides of 8 or 9 each in 1st. Why? Leaves some wiggle room for possible future applications to be accepted in. To grow the league, we need good, young talent. The U-18 Metro league is producing the best talent out there right now. Plus, loath the thought of TSU and Columbia given a free ride. I don’t see the need for 20 instead of 18 if these are the two filling in the spots. My ASS did offer that it ideally would like to see: - Prem: 10 teams - 1st: 20 teams - 2nd: 20 teams - 3rd: 20 teams - 4th: 20+ Suffice to say, my ASS has been getting a good pummeling the last week or so. I think my ASS is an easy target, though…sort of leaves itself wide open on here for abuse. But, my ASS was good enough to give me a call this afternoon to explain where the league was both forced and limited in making changes. So, I’m going to lay off hammering my ASS a bit. Couple of things I don’t like, a couple I strongly disagree with, but they did some good things, too, that will help the overall league. Getting the U-18 Metro in and involved is very key. Last time we lost a good graduating group was when SFC sent away their best youth to Peg, then pulled the team altogether from Prem. We kind of haven’t recovered since, but perhaps now, w/ Port Moody up, Delta Metro developing a strong young team, and Abby getting on board, they have injected some youth back into this old man’s league. For that, they deserve some kudos. Hopefully the league makes some sort of official press release on their site to clear everything up. There you go Big Bag, you big ass. Now fcuk off and leave me alone; I’m busy over here. ![]()

| Respect & Honour A Total Bastard | 100% no way Costley and the rest of those lads would move to the FVSL from the VMSL. Pegasus is still in Div 1 VMSL.
