Unhappy Project Soccer 2010

Looks like the US is on pace for their projected goal of winning the World Cup by 2010... amazing to see them ranked ahead of teams like France, England, Spain, Italy, Germany, etc...

1 Brazil
2 Argentina
3 Netherlands
4 Czech Republic
5 Mexico
6 USA
7 France
8 England
8 Spain
10 Portugal
11 Germany
12 Turkey
13 Japan
14 Italy
15 Iran
15 Republic of Ireland
17 Sweden
18 Uruguay
19 Denmark
19 Greece

Canada only has about 80 places to catch up

Two CONCACAF nations in top 10. Canada will get there eventually. Top 20 in the world in about 10 years could be realistic... okay maybe in 50 years or so. Hope MLS expands into Canada very soon. Imo, MLS is basically our only hope. How bout those Iranians, 15th wtf ?

Curious: how many spots did Greece move up after they won Euro 2004?

Obviously the ratings are a little questionable. Does anyone really think the U.S. could beat France, England, Spain or Italy in a competitive, er, competition? Hell, I doubt they could even beat Germany. They have made some great strides though. If Canada was to get an MLS franchise what are the odds of it being out this way? I suppose Toronto would get first crack, no?
