Default NHL Awards

Did anyone watch them?? How could Luongo go 0-3? That's biggest bunch of BS out there. You knew he wasn't going to win them all but 0-3? Other than that all the other awards fell into place, although I was surprised with Rod winning the Selke. Congrats to Vigneault and his staff on the Jack Adams.

Did anyone else catch Crosby say Marty instead of Roberto when he was congratulating Luongo and Lecavalier on their seasons?

I think that Luongo is gonna play even better next year as he's got a few things to prove.

Of the winners that beat out Luongo...who didnt deserve their award? Crosby? Brodeur?

Both are worthy winners...Luongo has nothing to prove.
The other two just had more exposure, and better seasons.
Period.

I hope so, but not bloody likely.

I guess the Italians don't win everything after all.

I caught that, and then did a rewind on my PVR and heard it again just to double check. What a retard. Great player (Crosby) but not MVP yet. Felt bad for Luongo, they could have given him one trophy.

Vigneaults daughter she 18 yet??

A lot of hot wives in the crowd as well.....

Well although I think he deserved an award. If he couldnt beat Brodeur for the Vezina there's no way he should get the Hart. If he's not the best goalie then how can you say he's the all around best player?

We discussed this at work today. He didn't win the best goalie, cuz Brodeur had more wins and broke the record for wins, so it had to go to him. Fine, that's easy. But the MVP is totally different. Basically the MVP is the heart of the team, and if you take away Crosby and Brodeur from their respective teams they (Devils/Pens) would be still decent teams. You take away Luongo from teh Canucks and the canucks would have been golfing in December!

Luongo should have won the hart trophy.... without him Vigneault and the rest of the team would not be where they are today.

I disagree....without Brodeur the devils would not have made the playoffs either...He stole so many games with shutouts etc.... and Crosby was the biggest part to his team because he gave them the confidence they needed to win again after a few very dismal seasons. At his age to lead his team back to something they can be proud of and to win the scoring title is hands down the winner to me.

Luongo lost all real chance of any major award with his play in the first 30 games. After that he was the best player in the league but first 30 he was a very average goaltender.

New Jersey would have been decent with any goalie in net. They have played the same defensive style of hockey in the last 10 years. KNVB would have got 48 wins if he played on New Jersey.

I agree with BJB, and I do think the Canucks are in for another record year next year. There won't be any 'get to know my teammates' time, Lou will have a year under his belt, they'll be plenty of awards coming his way next year.

Who cares about next year.....I can't wait till summer 2008 when the Canucks have 10 million to go after Heatley and Iginla.
