Well then, if we have a parking lot available, we may as well invite the 735 Lower Mainland players (note: this does not include the walk-ons from Europe and abroad) that will still be trying out. Let's see, that's approx. 4,400 or so hot wings (plus dip) when they do open up. You can just submit that as an expense under your President of Surrey FC title...plus the gas...petro, that is.

Mighty Carib 2-1 Canada

A game that was only 60 minutes long and had it gone any longer the score may have well gotten out of hand......

First half nil - nil and fairly even I thought. Canada with a few clear cut chances on half or full break aways but no finish........while the men in yellow were dangerous down the flanks but never really tested Animal in net.

Sencond half was pretty much a rotation of players and Canada clearly were second best when it came to depth and qualitly from top to bottom tonight.

Personally, I don't see the Caribbean going through in this format based on tonights form. Games are too short and a well organized squad from front to back can take them.........that said they have gobs and gobs of talent and individually could make up the entire Nations Cup All Star team but I just don't think 30 minute halfs favour them here.

Good luck everyone........see yah in the gardens

Sheesh do you have any idea how many last minute phone calls I made to get guys for this, then Millar heard the Dynamo were sandbagging with Nomads and he was afraid of being kept the back pocket of another Div 3 midfielder, so they bailed. Then I had to make that many phone calls again to cancel, all for a game I wasnt going to get to play in. That said I did get free beer in the Air Port league!

Over 30's Italy had another session tonight....Some good talent out for our team especially the frontrunners...Hose was absent as he is a little busy these days. Zenga is more than welcome to bring out his gloves for our side if he can find them at his house...

I have no clue what you are on about here??

We had a great training session tonight and the squad is good to go!

The Over 38's did not have a game scheduled with you tonight pal....

Maybe another team or some other boys....

We looked good tonight and we are ready to go!

Ladies - Canada - going with the Nutmegs factor.

I think you mean West Van.

PS IMO, for anyone over 30, games at this point are like cramming for a mid-term. Either you have it now, or you don't. Kickarounds are good. So are drinks on The Drive for that matter.

But enough about that: live at River Rock Casino, Saturday July 19, 2008:

Seriously.

It's a pisstake "Ronald", since we are using names. I am sure the take to whom it was aimed will see it as thus.... i had spoken with a few scotlanders and loosely arranged a game which we all feverishly tried to make happen....

I am sure you looked great and are as you said ready to go.

Go England.

The final addition to the Schedule has been done....never too late!!! Greece has been added to the Womens draw to fill the TBA slot.

I will be trying to update the schedule/results during the tournament, so if you see me smashing my laptop outside a starbucks (free internet - yes I'm Scotish) leave me the Fck alone. This Web updating thingy is like oragamy to me

Also bring a couple bucks to the Water Tent, as there will be a raffle for a Tickets for Two to the UK courtesy of Zoom Airlines. Tickets are $5 and there is only 599 (right Ginger) tickets to be sold. Not bad odds for a chance to fly across the pond.

Please remember that drinking outside the beer gardens can be a major problem to the tournament. We have enough problems with getting a beer garden in the City of Richmond so please come inside the garden for a pint or ten. All the money from the Garden goes to Charity so just remember that you are drinking for a good Cause

Good luck to everyone this weekend and remember your Sunscreen!!! No Rain in the Forecast means the SPF-Scotland might be needed.

Cheers,
Lean

You rock Lean.

Thanks to you and everyone else involved for doing this for us.

Penno would be proud.
And so is the Scotland Camp to wear his name on our jerseys this weekend.

Let's get it on,

You rock Lean?

Fraser, you are 42 years old. We don't talk like that at our age.

RF,

Are you suiting up? If so, I'm looking forward to having my annual kick at your achilles......... I'm hoping Coach Cannon is going to move me to the back as there was WAY too much running in midfield last year. Once a year is hard enough, let alone playing in the middle of the park.

Having said that, if I'm really drunk on Friday night, I will not be playing at 9:00 and might have to save myself for the Poland game at 5:45.
