| Not too bright BANNED |  2008 NBA playoff races. Western conference this year may be the best playoff race ever. 9 teams have a chance at winning the Conference or missing playoffs and the seedings in the middle. HOuston( 1st place) has won 22 straight and Denver (9th) has won their last 3 games by a combined margin of more than 100. Hard to imagine that one of these eventual 46 - 49 win teams misses the playoffs while an Eastern conference team with 33-35 wins and a blew .500 record gets in. As of right now if they were in the west only 3 Eastern teams have good enough records to be in a playoff spot while 11 teams have good enough records to get in if they were in the east. 1 Houston 46 20 .697 2 LA Lakers 45 21 .682 1 3 New Orleans 44 21 .677 1 ½ 4 Utah 44 24 .647 3 5 Phoenix 44 22 .667 2 6 San Antonio 44 22 .667 2 7 Dallas 44 23 .657 2 ½ 8 Golden State 41 24 .631 4 ½ 9 Denver 40 26 .606 6 |

Its funny...My bro is a huge Lakers fan and he thinks it's their year  I follow the Suns but I think there team got weaker adding Shaq, there no longer run and gun as his fat ass takes 25 seconds to get from one key to the other.....this will hurt them against Lakers, Rockets, Golden State, Dallas....but if they play SA I think they have a chance to beat them as Shaq can slow down Duncan. I think the championship still goes through SA..... I would like to see a Suns/Celtic final but my heart says SA/Pistons!

They did however beat the Spurs 2 weeks ago which shows with shaq they can hold off Duncan. Shaq is averaging 11 points a game and if the Suns want to make a run at the championship he will need to contribute at least 20 points night after night.
