| Premium Member A Better Bastard | So far, the college bowl games have been nothing less than spectacular. Here is a list of the Bowls and the results. If you get a chance to watch some of the upcoming games, do yourself a favour, and make sure you do....... From today..... Two great performances by Josh Harris(QB-Bowling Green - 386 yds passing and a cracker of a wife) and Jason Wright(RB-NW - 21 carries for 237 yards and 336 all-purpose yards). The second game also ended up on the wrong end for the Captain's bet($10) but it ended up 52 - 49 in regulation time. A field goal with 2 seconds to go won it for Cal. Once again, over 1 000 yards in total offense AND 101 points. Great stuff....... | Premium Member A Better Bastard | Since my last post, there have been some shoc-king bowl games. Sorry about that......However, there have been a few crackers too.....This little apple was from yesterday Placed : 01/01/2004 05:17:36 Bet Type : Trebles Stake : 10.00 1 Bets @ 10.00 per bet Status Purdue v Georgia Georgia to win with Handicap of -3 @ 1.83 Won Michigan v U S C Usc to win with Handicap of -6.5 @ 1.80 Won Florida State v Miami Florida Miami Florida to win with Handicap of +2 @ 1.90 Won Transaction Number : 475006101 Total Returns : 63.00 The Georgia game went into overtime after Georgia jumped to a 24-0 lead. They won in the first OT 34 - 27....... In the Michigan game, it was great to see the number one team in my opinion(USC) pound Michigan. What a potent offense with a great core of receivers. Williams is money..... The FSU/Miami game was defense, defense, and more defense. It was very frustrating watching Miami(because I bet on them) fail on FOUR 3rd and 1 situations in a fcuking row. However, their defense was up to the task...... It is always nice to see Florida get humped, this time by Iowa. Florida's quarterback is just too young. Iowa ran the ball down the Gators' throat. Maryland pounded favorite West Virginia 41 - 7 but I didn't see much of this game. Ole' Miss, behind Eli Manning beat high scoring Oklahoma State 31 - 28 to cover the 2.5 point spread. I've won a few college bets over the last few days.............It looks like Clemson's offense is going to be a little bit too much for Tennessee to handle as it is 24 - 14 at the half, with the Volunteers offering very little resistance to Clemson's balanced attack.... The big game is on the 5th with Oklahoma/LSU playing for a share of the National Championship with USC. Personally, after watching USC play, they should be the number one team, no matter what happens between LSU/Oklahoma.... |

| Premium Member A Better Bastard | I agree that USC should be the national champions but once again it will have to be split because of the system in place. USC will top the AP poll and either LSU or the Sooners will win the Coaches poll. The BCS has not solved the problems it was intended to (i.e. decide a clear-cut and deserving champion). I understand the BCS has two more years left on its contract and after that the system will change. How hard can it be to create a playoff system while still retaining the bowls? I mean, crap, have no. 1 and 4 play in the Rose/Fiesta/Whatever Bowl as one semifinal and no. 2 and 3 go at it in the Orange/Sugar/Sensei Hanson Bowl as the other semi. The two winners would then meet in the Snoop Dogg Cozzollege Chazzampionship Bowl a week later. For shizzle dizzle. |
