Westside 1-BRM 1. good game all around with goo chances. SU went up one nothing in the first 10 minutes while we were still wiping the sleep out of our eyes. About 10 minutes later, we have a nice development down the right side, beat the defender to put a cross and have Atterton finish. The rest of the gae saw solid chances both ways. SU with pretty much a wide open goal skyed one. Overall - fair result. Good bunch of boys. Regs - I didn't see what happened to you - hope you aren't out long.

Staff report that SU had 1 or 2 subs tops. I find it interesting that no staff member reported an injury to Regs (hope it is not bad). But The Chest is going to have to get to the bottom of whether or not staff stayed to watch the entire game over at Quilchena. Because, (and I thought we were over this), they have been prone to in past put in a half, and then off to watch NFL football at Cheshire Cheese, Bimini, or Malones, or that other bar up the street fom the restaurant where everyone gets shot. At 4th and McDonald, can't remember the name (which, seriously, is very bad seeing Sir M went there about 100 times in his University days).

VFF 2 - Cracovia 1 (on a penalty with 2 mins left). We were up two when I left..coaching duties..Abbotsford is not a quick 10 mins away...we were down to 11 players (how unusual)..apparently lost another to injury..so played most of the 2nd half with 10...still..a win is a win.

Cheers!

Darby's. although improved, it falls somewhere between Copper Tank and Dentry's on destination ranking in Kits/Point Grey area of west side.

I think they had 2-3 subs, but Regs went off around half time.

btw, despite Westside having a lot of people on the side, they only had 3-4 subs, with some of those being sick/injured. So, sidelines were pretty even as well.

Now then, taking into consideration the Canadian Dollar rising above the US, this was possibly the deciding factor in the tie.

Yes, Darby's thanks CS. I think maybe I purposely for some reason blocked that from my mind.

Go figure.

SCK:

You and Hose can both buy me coffee. Spike with some decent grappa and then we'll talk. Take the lights down, you lazy bum - the neighbours have started to complain again...

Sir M:

Darby's is a looong way from Quilchena, as are most outposts of civilisation. Uphill all you've got is expensive sushi and the blue-rinse crowd, and not much at the mall across the street except the liquor store. No wonder the Greeks packed it in.

Down in the nether reaches, da Spurz actually won a game over that other team from Surrey, and actually got to play on Hastings again.

I was never into Darby's during the university days...Biminis was much more of happenin' place...Actually, the Soft Rock was even better for a brief period of time. I think I remember seeing a few of the guys on TTP as well... sober or not!

Just a little more on the FF/Cracovia game ... we went up two nil after the frirst 30 minutes ... shortstaffed but then again who isn't - beautiful second goal by us - overlapping fullback made a fabulous run and slotted a beauty from about 18 yards out - just like a surgeon. I am sure it is the first of many this year for this youngster.
We have now signed Peter Lorimer and Trevor Whymark - available for selection next week..... Ruudi Kroll to follow shortly, maybe even Peter Beardsley. We declined the option on RF who is currently on waivers and is sitting at the buffett table.

Could have been 22 or 25 yards - hard to recall as the fans were too noisy.

Good even game...Yeah, I think Rob Z. had one shot in the second half....a blast from 30 yards out that almost hit the trees. We missed a few chances...enough said!

Glad to hear RZ only had one shot on him over the net - he has problems diving as seen in our game when he took his stint on the forward line....

What chances, you only had one against a side missing half their starters.

DaMoron, WTF does that have to do with VMSL Masters?

Regs I am unable to answer your question, but what I can report is that Westside hammered Westvan this eve 3-0. I missed the 1st goal because I was coming back from Bellingham but it took my driver two hours to get from Aldergrove to the Port Mann. But Westside scored on the two other shots I saw them take.

Give me strength.

Inter 0 MF 0

Good first half with MF carrying the play. Second half completely changed. We had most of the play but didn't finish....sitters included! Disappointing result from our perspective...I think they may also have been shortstaffed.

What team doesn't play short staffed this time of the season?
