Default 2005-2006 Div 2 Provisional Alignment

This is obviously a very rough draft of the teams and groupings. I think Champlain is in transition, Bosna had some serious issues with personnel. I would have to say that Group C would appear to be the weakest and it would be a close call between A and B with the former getting the nod based on last seasons performances.

The big story however, is the veritable rivalry hotbed of 2B. Richmond, JB's, NK, WestSide Knights, Primos, Douglas(PGR) all in the same group. It will be like old times and I am sure the Div2 thread will be a-flying with all the smack talk!!

Based on last year's performances I would have to think 2C is easily the weakest. And fcuk a duck in a dump truck, the TTP gods have put together a wicked 2B. Should make for some fun. For the love of god though, no more half-naked pictures of Mickster please.

Question Re: 2005-2006 Div 2 Provisional Alignment

I'm probably opening myself up for a good bashing here but where oh where are the groupings posted. Either these ol eyes can't focus after a liquid lunch or i'm just completely screwed....

Not exactly sure what is going to happen

I'm putting the call out to the massses,

"If there is anyone interested in taking over a div 2 squad be it a merger or any other arrangement, please PM me"

More than likely.
There maybe another course that we may take with someone expressing the idea of being a player/coach.
Along with some help from the usual core guys and some real comitment from the lads, we may stick it out one more season.

How much for the spot?

Team TTP in the VMSL standings would be funny

I'd almost consider giving to you free to see Team TTP in the standings and you arguing with wazzi at the AGM or every weekend at the league office for that matter.

What kind of damage would team TTP do in Div 2 ?

Let the rumours begin

Looks like there have been some more updates to the provisional alignment on the VMSL website. Some interesting notes..

Signmaster(2a) has elected to stay in Div2 and Royal United gets the nod to Div1.
Sporting Punjab(2c) looks like they have merged with the Surrey Hurricanes(FVSL).
Elephant Walk have merged with some team and are probably now going by Eastside Inter FC(2c).
There is some new team named Green Devils...Don't know who they are....

Bonefish, one of my former Champlain teammates last week told me that a bunch of older guys that used to play at a higher level apparently made a team. Green Devils might be them. Sporting Punjab now becomes a contender for the 2c title with these new additions. 2c looks like it can be a 4 or 5 team race for promotion now.

Also looking at your group it looks like you guys might finally go up this year. Good luck.

Looks like the Primo's dropped their Norvan affiliation, too. Wonder if it's gonna be the same team as always. Big Bird, any thoughts?!

Eastside Inter makes me think of a bunch of guys in wife-beaters and gold chains, sporting kappa tracksuits. Don't mean to stereotype here, but you know how it is.

Looking at the setup, there's about 3-4 teams in each group that could win it. I think it'll come down to the teams that get out of the gate the fastest. Sometimes teams don't get rolling till 4-5 games in and by then it's too late.

I've heard we picked up a few guys, but been away from the team for a while so not too sure of who.

B'fish, same old lot for you guys or did you actually find a goalie this year?

Primos...They liked the uptick of play in Div 1 but lacked a complete-enough team to get the job done. They are looking to pick up some players to make another promo-run but I would expect to see a similar team. As for the de-affiliation...I was not aware that this was the case but given some of the sentiments on the outside and the inside I can defintely see it.

We are/have picked up a couple of players, but a keeper is still work in progress(Mickster, any news?). We still have a pretty solid core and if we can get some solid training in and stay healthy we should provide some good competition for the group.

Div2 is often like that ole box of choclates of Forrest Gump...you never know what cha gonna get, so will see come Sept.

Appears that Shaheen from 2c got promoted over night into Div 1 because Khalsa dropped out. Looks like theres about 3-4 new teams in Div 2.

I can shed some light on the Green Devils. Seems to be a defective group from Nomads with a mix of new players. I beleive Nelson is running this team. Difference in training, player selection point of views brought this about. Green Devils are playing in the West Coast Summer League this year. OK team but not championship material from what I can see so far.

Eastside Inter FC. This definitely has Champlain Heights involved so I would assume they are the other side of the merger.

Looking at the lack of Cat 2 Teams so far I woudl say that the Masters Div's have sucked up some teams and/or players.

Bombastic is training and will have the majority of the core back but lost a striker which could hurt. A couple of solid additions have been made though so we could contend for the title in 2C. No prediction just a wait and see. We are moving some of our older players into postion to form an O 35 team in a couple of years but I'm sure you will still see a few of us ol boys helping out the "A" team time to time.

Vincent, can you confirm or deny this?

Why would Nelson name the team Green Devils? Aren't Green Devils pills? Or is it a vague reference to the Red Devils of Manchester?

Let's have some more rumours:

What's happening with Belmont, Bandcamp?
Shaheen has gone up have they? Any other news on this?
Gurps, what's your story? Are you playing O-35's Women's this year?
What about the NK train? Watcher, Yomama, where are you?
What kind of team will Burnaby Fury be fielding?
Has Therapist been released from prison? (God, his poor dog must miss him)
Georgie's Best, are you guys seriously training already? You're taking the piss right?
