| Member | I know people have written about this topic before but I did a few searches and didn't come up with anything. As far as the basic content (schedule, updates, fields, standings etc.), it's fine, and generally very reliable. Although I wish it kept player stats (ie. goals other than Premier). But the presentation of the site is pretty 1993. I know some guys have offered/volunteered to update it. I mean there aren't even any photographs. The VMSL is not only a great soccer league, but one of the best sports leagues in Vancouver. I just feel like there's SO MUCH MORE we could do with it. I could go on with suggestions but I'm sure everyone else feels the same way. So what's the deal? Does anyone know the league's "official" stance on the subject? |

| Respect & Honour A Total Bastard | A good guess would be "status quo". Anything more official and you'd have to ask Walks. To be honest though, this topic is so 2003ish. Try a new fresh thread like FVSL vs VMSL or Who the fcuk is Georgie Best? Cheers, ~Regs.

| I was at that meeting and basically what WAB said. It does everything it needs to do. Schedule, Standings, Cards... It could be better, but it's good enough as they say. As for posting stuff on there... we have TTP..... dont' need another site.

| Premium Member A Better Bastard | It's beating a dead horse unfortunately. I agree with you for the most part Aekara. What I would say though is that the VMSL has the potential to be a great league but right now is a bloated, limping behemoth. Many changes need to be made in order to streamline the league and to realize it's potential. The website is one factor, a small one, but still relevant nonetheless. Other things like divisional restructuring are very important but unfortunately are just being ignored and it is extremely frustrating. It should be called the Vancouver Metro Status quo League. Without any revamping it is just getting more stale, producing less talent and basically just getting lamer. And no one in charge has the foresight or wherewithal to realize that everthing evolves and needs to be constantly modified, updated and revamped at the right times. Look at this website for one. It has evolved continously since its inception. The VMSL? They've brought in the Cat system and done nothing else. Wow, spectacular success there. Rant over. |

| Member | I think all of the issues that have been raised as problems are not really problems but symptoms of a bigger problem. The big problem is that the leadership never goes contested when the AGM comes up. Result? Whenever somebody suggests a change Azzi pushes all-in with an 'I'll quit' and everybody folds. Azzi has things running the way he likes them. How can you blame him for that? Until other people want to step up and do the job the league will be held hostage by his threats to quit. Things can only change if new people come in and change them. Until then its unfair to point the finger at somebody for doing a satisfactory job. |

| Member | Good point GhostRider. Maybe there is a bigger problem, but it's possible to solve the smaller problems by delegating certain things out and not necessarily replacing leadership, but adding more leadership. One of the most important skills of a leader (in any field) is being able to delegate responsibilities to competent people. I guess it's status quo then untill... |
