2006 Provincial Cup (VMSL Teams)

As in every other year i believe it is 8 teams from the VMSL that get a berth. 4 Imperial cup semi finalists and the next best of the Top of the premier standings for a total of 8 teams. This is how i have cut and pasted as the standings would state....

2) *Surrey 45 (0)
3) *Inter 36 (3)
4) Sporting 36 (2)
5) Columbus 28 (1)
6) Sapperton 25 (3)
7) Croatia 20 (1)
8) Firefighters 18 (2)
9) Indo 17 (1)
10) Norvan 16 (2)
11) AFC 16 (0)
12) West Van 14 (2)
13) Burnaby 14 (0)
14) Westside 11 (2)

Metro Ford, Slurrey and Inter are in the Semi Finals of the Imperial Cup. We will know this weekend if Columbus or Peg will be the 4th. If Columbus wins there will be 4 more teams from the premier division added, if Pegasus wins there will be 3 more teams added from the premier division.

As you mentioned above that MF, Surrey and Inter have secured a spot via the Imperial that makes us (Sporting) the first team based on league standing to have secured a spot. Unless of course I can't add and I know better then any that it happens too often.

Basically from your list, the top 6 are in no matter what.

A Clanbus win this weekend means several teams battling for 2 final spots. A Peg win means several teams battle for one spot.

If Peg starts from the south end and Clanbus starts from teh north end, how long will it take Azzi and the rest of the VMSL board to consume all the pizza at the next board meeting?

So this is what i have so far. With 4 teams from Premier clinching a semi final berth in the imperial cup. Means we will have 4 more teams from Premier competing for the last 4 provincial berths.

I guess they do. With 2 wins they would have 20 points. So there is a possibility. Now if Croatia and West Van were to be tied, i dont' know what the tie breaker is.

As for Upcoming games.

Sapp plays Firemen
Croatia plays Sporting
Norvan plays West Van

Peg had a play-off vs. Inter for a provincial cup berth many years ago, not sure if it has happened again since.

With us getting a point from the sporting game, and Norvan beating West Van.... Leaves the final provincial berth open till next week.

Norvan plays Westside in there last league game. Good news for Croatia about this game is that Westside does have something to play for in this game, as a Westside win will put them in a tie for last place in Group A, and could force a playoff or whatever the fcuk they do for ties. So hopefully the league will schedule the WestVan game and the Westside game at the same time, so there is no chance of fixing????
