| Member | Anyone know if they are gonna allow any Div 1 teams to join us this year in the Imperial Cup? Any idea when a draw may be taking place for the cup play? Last year they limited it to two Div 1 teams due to the weather. Same goes for Div 1 and Div 2, where there were limited teams allowed in the respective cups, from what I recall. Will be interesting to see if they open it up this year to all Div 1 teams. Past experience shows the top half of Div 1 entering the Imperial, with upsets always taking place. | Not too bright BANNED | Everyone in Div 1 is allowed to enter the Imperial. Depends on if they want to or not. The League had to know if you wanted to by this past weekedn i believe. All team managers were sent an email About all this stuff and getting their commitment to the various cups. |

| Member | From the website: The Cup draws will be held at the VMSL office on Saturday, January 19, 2008 starting at 12:00 noon. This includes the Imperial Cup, the Division 1 Cup, the Division 2 Cup, the Masters’ ‘A’ Cup, and the Masters’ ‘B’ Cup. There will be no draw for the Under 21 Cup since all the teams will be seeded according to the standings into 2 groups. They will then participate in a round-robin competition leading to the semi-finals and the final. The 2 top teams in each of the two Premier Division groups will be seeded in the Imperial Cup draw. Also, the 4 Division 2 leaders (2A, 2B, 2C, and 2 CAT) will be seeded in the Division 2 Cup draw. Finally, the 4 top teams in the Premier Masters’ Division will be seeded in the Masters’ ‘A’ Cup and the top 4 teams in the Masters’ Division 2 will be seeded in the Masters’ ‘B’ Cup draw. Any Div 1 reps out there to confirm their team entry in the Imperial Cup? |

| Member | Would be great to see any and all Div 1 Teams stir things up in Cup Play. I fully comprehend that when it is "One and Done" soccer anything can happen and that is doesn't reflect the true caliber of a team but how fun would it be to see ICSF or Columbus bow out to Serbian, Westside, Punjab etc? Or how about Westside vs Westside? I can't imagine Sporting Club or West Van slipping up but the top Div 1 teams and bottom Premiers should make for some good matches. Also, this may give a chance for some cross divisional matchups such as Pegasus-Punjab or Primo-Bingers. There should be one or two cross div games during the season to mix it up a little. Any takers? |

| Member | I agree htm986, there may be some upsets. On any given day, any team can win. I have played Premier long enough to see some Div 1 teams knock off Premier teams. Look at Westside last year. Should be alot of fun playing some new teams during the cup. |
