| Premium Member A Better Bastard | Well the Pac Cup draw for the Valley has been done and all the first round match-ups have been set. Now for the Imperial in the VMSL. Top four teams from this tourney get into the B.C's along with the Top four from the VMSL Premier League. As of today, top four in league are Inter (20 points), Burnaby (19), Slurrey (18), and Fireman and Sapperton with 17 points. So that would leave the rest of the Premier teams fighting for a Provincial spot by getting to the semi's of the Imperial. All the teams that wanted to enter the Imperial Cup, had to contact the league by Dec. 31. "IMPERIAL CUP: The time has come for our Division 1 teams to declare whether they wish to participate in the 2005 Imperial Cup or the Division 1 Cup. The deadline for making this choice is December 31, 2004. If Division 1 teams (regular or CAT) wish to enter the Imperial Cup, they must do so, in writing, by that date. If we do not hear from you, we will assume that you wish to enter the Division 1 Cup. If Division 1 teams do not wish to enter ANY cup play, they should notify us, in writing, to that effect." Anyone out there know what Div. 1 teams are in, and who has chicken'd out and gone into the Div. 1 Cup? Not sure when the draw is, but the first round was played last year during the first weekend of Feb. Pegasus won the Cup last year, for the first time, and then followed up that Cup, with a B.C. Cup, and even a National Championship in October. Don't think they will be the favourites heading into this years Cup, based on thier record right now, and the way teams are knocking off each other from week to week, you never know who will be hot heading into this thing. Plus there is the top Div. 1 teams that have all the High Price help, they could be a factor, but it has been a long time since a Div. 1 or 2 team has won the Cup. Perhaps Azzi can update us on Draw date, and date for first round games, we need something to talk about with all this snow coming down. hos |

| Premium Member A Better Bastard | So here are the Champs for the last 25 years, some fine teams in that list. I see Burnaby Lake is the last Div. 2 team in 1990 to win, and even a Div. 3 team won in 1987, the Mighty Queens Park Rangers. 1980 Columbus Umberto 1981 Cliff Avenue United 1982 Vancouver Firefighters 1983 Vancouver Firefighters 1984 Discovery 84 FC 1985 Norvan ANAF #45 FC 1986 Norvan ANAF #45 FC 1987 Queens Park Rangers 1988 Dartmen FC 1989 West Van Trollers 1990 Burnaby Lake Clubhouse 1991 Vancouver Firefighter 1992 Club Ireland FC 1993 Club Ireland FC 1994 Westside Rino 1995 Wesburn 1996 Croatia SC 1997 Croatia SC 1998 Croatia SC 1999 Indo-Canadians 2000 Westside FC 'A' 2001 ICSF Inter 2002 Rino's Westside 2003 Westside Rino 2004 Pegasus FC 2005 ??? hos Last edited by Hands of Stone; 01-07-2005 at 12:07 PM. |

| Respect & Honour A Total Bastard | Craig was backup back then... Ronnie Erkamps was in the net - one of the best I've ever played with but that's not saying much with HOS as an ex-teammate ![]()

| Premium Member A Better Bastard | Just shows how strong the league was back then, when you have a guy like Craig as back-up on Club-I. The league sure was competitive with 10 teams, every team had a strong 16 players, now we have the CAT system. hos |

| Premium Member A Better Bastard | Little trivia for everyone; How many times has Croatia been up and down from Div. 1 to Premier since they won 3 in a row in the late 90's. Bonus Question: How many own goals does Bronco have in Imperial Cup play? Back at ya bigman. hos |

| Premium Member A Better Bastard | Ya, little surprised about Polonia, they don't have a bad young team, well except for TA and the bad red cards he takes. But what about DeepCoveRoyals, isn't that the new Fiji team that is coached or run by Ivor, thought they would take a run at Imperial and see what they could do against some of the big boys. But when is the DRAW, keeper? hos |
