Thumbs up [Bookie] WC Group B - England v Paraguay [R]

Rooney with an own goal to give Paraguay an easy win... think before you post.

Rooney returns to training

BUEHLERTAL, Germany (AP) -- Wayne Rooney practised with England on Thursday, hours after being cleared by doctors to play in the World Cup following his recovery from a broken right foot.

"The good news from yesterday evening and today is Rooney has no more injury, he is injury-free," coach Sven-Goran Eriksson said after practice, reading from a prepared statement. "Now it's up to us to get him match fit."
I wonder if he'll see any minutes in this one?

I'd save him if it was my call...let's be realistic here...is it worth starting him?!

My team is Man U, and I'd way rather have him for League play...sure, World Cup would be sweet with him at the top of his game...we'll see I suppose.

I'll give the edge to Paraguay in the spectator department. Yowza!

Ferdinand looks like a freak.

Considering Paraguay's play in the first, Engerland should be embarrassed to be up only by one. The South Americans, though, should be thanking their lucky stars.

The ref has small man's syndrome and is unfairly punishing Crouch.

The ref was out to lunch the whole second half
Couldn't get myself out of bed until halftime and England looked shocking to say the least.

Didn't they have problems scoring their own goals in '02 as well?

Nice to see Mauricio get a game in. Didn't know he had a thing for robots though... fcuk me, there were some dodgey calls!

England looked average at best. Why is Neville even on the park?

Agree with all above. Very uninspiring. Why does Sven not have either Lampard or Gerrard preferably charging forward recklessly. Way too predicatable, and too easy to defend. That same formation and tactics against a better squad and they would have been ripped apart.

Fantastic atmosphere in the stadium! All thought the game wasnt the best the English fans we fantastic. From my train ride from Koln to the stadium were signing the whole way.

I had fantastic seats row two behind the Frankfurt pitch board.

After the match right out side the train station was the biggest beer garden I have ever seen. And the English were signing hours after the match as well.

Great first WC exprience!

Off to Portugal v Angola tonight!
