High school is now just for fun. 3a, 2a and 1a. Although it is getting less strict, more often than not we are fighting against the BCSPL clubs to let the players play. This is especially true with the girl in the spring. Recently the clubs seemed to have changed their policies, but I am...
I completely agree that all players should be notified about these opportunities for all local college and university teams. Let the players decide if the fee is worth it or not and give them the opportunity to create their own destiny.
I would say the 'education' comes down to personal decisions. Grades help get you money and into bigger schools, but in U-Sport/CIS a player only needs a 60% average in three classes. It is very possible for a player to get an education, even if they are not the best student, but if there are...
I may have missed something as I read through the thread, but why is the focus of this conversation looking solely at UBC(and some SFU)? Although I don't agree with the BCSPL for a multitude of reasons, many already listed, one of the leagues focuses is to get scholarships and/or get players...
My personal opinion is an 8-10 team league would be best.
For the past bunch of years it has been 6, with a clear top 4. I completely understand why those bottom 2 teams weren't overly interested in staying in the league when they only get 2-3 competitive games a year and 8-12 very difficult...
Yeah, I haven't heard anything official about the break-up of the league and curious about some of the specifics.
From what I have seen or know about the teams, there is enough competition for a larger upper division than just 4. PoMo, ND, Chilliwack and Surrey United are all there for sure...
Daring to be the sound of reason, cuz to be honest I don't like that 'Dave' guy as much as the next person, but this season was always going to be a shitshow with Delta folding and Temple merging with Peg and was only made worse when the team (I can't remember who) folded the week the season was...
Fair credit to the other teams in the division (only 1 forfeit so far), but I forgot how much I enjoyed playing in a competitive game and even more so, having a beer and a laugh after with the other team after a hard battle.
Please, continue the witch hunt, I am sure you'll find something eventually, but lets get the facts straight.
@Stringer, PMO Gunners is not PMO Rangers... as odd as it sounds they are different clubs. 2 of the PMO Rangers on the team play open, 2 others are from the Gunners, which is also an...
Now, mostly PE, but there is no difference in my socials, english or business ed classes. This has also been at three different schools
Sorry Dutch, I'll be more exact for you next time. 57% of my classes are at 30 or more students. This year I had a class at 31, two at 30, 2 at 28(1 started...
