Aside from the north delta and langley squads I've never heard of many of the 3b teams. Will be interesting.
If it is the same blue devils, they easily ran up to div 2 a few years ago so maybe some players jumped ship???
Some grudge matches in the nordel derbies this year.
Most likely my last...
Was spoilt by a quality ref this past weekend. With no linesman, it is understandable to miss some calls... what I value is a ref who manages the game well and that's what we had, Des I believe was his name, from the UK somewhere. Reasonable and quashed any decent.
Bit of a tease to see what we...
The last few games, depth of squad has played an increasing role in the outcome of games. Having a few subs when the opponent has none has been a big factor in recent wins.
Gotta get the job done to win... but being able to pull away at the end helps with more rested bodies ready to go.
How are you all finding the officiating this year?
Ours started with some bad and even terrifying refs who really lost any control and allowed for some really violent play go, then the last three games we have had really good refs.
To be clear my expectations for a good ref is managing the...
I'll add to that, we are an older team and can make use of extra bodies, when I played div 1 or 2, if we had one or two subs, we were fine because we could play all day anyways.
NorDel Titans. We did the same, signed 21, already missing six or so, but we have a div 4 club to pull from, but luckily haven't needed to.
I like 14 or 15 players for games, any more and I find the subs can make for a fractured game play.
That's one thing I wonder about from when I played in...
Are teams having issues fielding full teams on the A side? For two weeks in a row we have played teams that barely can field a team. It has made for dull games where the result was never really in question. This is where bad habits can sneak into a team's play.
As a goal you want to win every game, sure...
however, if I'm on a team and we run up the score and never lose, there is no challenge in that. I would want to play games where there is some challenge or push back. I also have no interest in promotion as I'm content in div 3, which is pretty...
On the 'B' side, with 3 teams from Langley and North Delta and 2 from CCB there will be some confusion as to which is which until the standings discern their differences...
Hopefully there is no team like Aldergrove from last year, running 16-0, in what was otherwise a fairly balanced division.
Greetings gentlemen, after a decade in the VMSL I moved out of North Van to Langley and joined Aldergrove United who are in Div 2 By the looks of the schedule on the FVSL site, only the first two weeks are confirmed? Is this normal???
