You have to play to your strengths to get as far into the tournament as possible. Defensive structure and commitment to the game plan is how you beat flash and dash when you can't match up with the other team going forward. That's just the reality and nothing new. PCOV spent only one year in Div.1 after being promoted from Div.2 and before gaining promotion to Premier back in the early 90s.

Anyone know the dates of the first round of Provincials for this year? I see the finals are scheduled for May 14. Last year it ran for four straight weeks but isn't there usually a break between the semis and finals?

I don't believe a merger of the FVSL and VMSL Masters is a viable option. That would entail way too much travel and it's already hard enough for VMSL teams to get to Ambeside for a 7:30pm kickoff on a Friday night, let alone South Surrey. For the longevity of the VMSL Masters League, I believe...
