How will HPL affect Gold/Silver levels

"send this to district. Posting here doesn't help much!" ... how is that telling him "not to post here"??? If I said "don't post here, send it to the district" I'd get your point.... :) Sorry - not seeing "superior customer service" on that one!

How will HPL affect Gold/Silver levels

Again....send this to the district. Posting here doesn't help much! Good question about if metro can move down. Never heard of it before....anything can happen.....every year in metro there seems to be a couple teams at various age groups losing AND WINNING by big scores.....

Should I put my son in the HPL

I would imagine if the Kootenays Soccer Associations (what are they named?) got together a group of coaches who could develop a business model/plan and presented it to BCSA re: coach-development then you might get somewhere. But they'd also have to be able to say "we will be serving XXXXXX...

Should I put my son in the HPL

Steelie - I would put him in HPL if he is good enough and you can afford it. I agree with an above poster that "most" if not all the best players are there....of course there will always be good teams and players at the 2nd tier, but the overall level won't be close. The HPL and Metro will be at...

Should I put my son in the HPL

Your and my experiences with SYL seem to be different. I was involved with 4 teams (1 club), never costing more than $1100 (I think!?) to register, but nowhere near the $1500-2000 you quoted as costing. I don't have encyclopedic, nor will look it up, but I don't believe the other clubs cost that...

Should I put my son in the HPL

;) No worries. I've just never heard of any club turning away a player for financial reasons....have you? I've heard of people not going due to prohibitive costs, but I've not heard of clubs actually saying "no pay no play...." unless they are well aware the family can afford it, I...

Should I put my son in the HPL

Most of RCD's post is spot-on in my opinion....especially the DVD bit....don't agree with the money-grab bit. Yes, HPL is the top league and most of the top boys will be in it. Yes, it's comparable financially for any player who played SYL & Metro.

Should I put my son in the HPL

There will always be good players in tier 2, no matter the league. But look at it this way - how many SYL or BC PTP/NTC players are in metro this year compared to HPL? While not a strict measuring stick, it's a pretty good one. I don't know all the coaches (or players) but I suspect the 8 HPL...

2011 Senior Boys High School Soccer

CS - HS soccer is a shortened/crammed season so citing that you've played 20 games compared to the more minimal number of HPL games doesn't really apply. HPL is in a shortened 7 game warm-up season. BUT, this time next year the teams will be at the end of a comprehensive spring/summer/fall...

Should I put my son in the HPL

Look at who the coaches are for the u13 leagues in 2012.....I am not sure the age classifications BUT, the 2013 u13 groups will likely be having some tryouts in spring 2012, provide then a summer program and enter into the 7 game mini-season in September 2012 before the league-proper in 2013...

2011 Senior Boys High School Soccer

Wouldn't the HPL coach and parents be equally upset if the kids left to play HS??? After all, HPL is the far greater committment financially, and in time requirements....??? #Devil'sAdvocate.

    BCSPL- Pros/Cons/Other Sports

Tryouts would be ... when, February maybe? I'd be checking each franchises web page regularly - weather conditions of course being obstacle, as well as available field dates due to ongoing league play....?? Might be an issue. Best bet is to email each franchise specifically and ask - as the...

How will HPL affect Gold/Silver levels

^Agreed - 22 good players on the field yesterday at the u17 game I attended. Combative. The style of play needs a lot of work from both teams, but the onus on that has to be with the current u9-u14's (and the younger ones coming through).

How will HPL affect Gold/Silver levels

Perfect....league play ends but in Jan-March it is cup play. Not sure exactly the make-up of the Cup but there is district cup, and league cups. The league cups apparently will be round robin and you'll play "like" teams...??? I would think next year it will be clearer as teams have better...

How will HPL affect Gold/Silver levels

I'd be surprised if every TD wasn't a part of the team placement process....it's been my experience the TD's are.... Agreed - just because a team is losing doesn't mean you drop them. If the games are close in score or even if not close in score but are competitive there is no reason to drop...

How will HPL affect Gold/Silver levels

I wouldn't go about assuming why teams were placed at which level - I doubt it was each individual coach telling their club "we are division 3A!" especially since no one really knew what each level would be like - except u12, metro, and BCSPL.

How will HPL affect Gold/Silver levels

I am not suggesting teams don't change. Moreso, I am suggesting "don't post here - approach the board directly." You'll make no changes by posting here. But again, I ask, "have you seen these teams play"?? I wouldn't go ahead and relegate a team 2 divisions or promote a team 2 divisions based...

Takin The Piss- Whalley Soccer Club opens office @ NAP

CCB/SFC should be encouraging their players to join Surrey United or South Fraser to reach top level soccer/exposure - gotta say "DITTO" as well! Not to suggest the kids flea CCB/SFC pre-u13....they need not. They can also quite easily drive to Abby (20-40 minutes) or Coquitlam (won't guess the...

How will HPL affect Gold/Silver levels

How is North Fraser going to get BCSPL soon? Can't see the league expanding and I doubt anyone is going to give up their spot...people are calling for CCB/SFC to get a spot, and now you also want to add NFS to make a ten team league? The purpose was to contract to then bring up the level of play...

Takin The Piss- Whalley Soccer Club opens office @ NAP

I am not assuming CCB/SFC are discouraging their players to move on, just to be clear. They might be encouraging the players. Theoretically, if CCB/SFC (or any club) lose players to a BCPL franchise they'd get a player back in return as most kids are just going tryout for the BCPL team nearest...
