This. Definitely this. The contradictions and half-measures are the most frustating! Walmart can operate without any measures in place (masks now) but we can't be outside with family and friends? Gimme a break. We all know that decision is driven by tax dollars - as are most contradictory...
you obviously have been reading the wrong meme's. Mortality globally fluctuates between 2-6%. The 99.9% and 99.7% myth comes from a total misinterpretation of the CDC site that indeed says mortality is 0.01 or so, because it calculates current death totals in comparison to total deaths. Of...
Cuz kids are getting completely burned out after being chewed up in BCSPL for however many seasons they play there - many quit, lost interest even if they do continue playing, are fatigued, or a bit of maybe depression sets in as they realize their "career" is over as they are in FVSL and not...
Every team in senior soccer will have multiple players who can ping a ball in from half, some from further with accuracy. Some teams will use this as a specific tool. Could get gross. Some teams will be very very effective using such a weapon.
Yes, transmission more likely inside than out. But those guys aren't distancing. They are nearly shoulder to shoulder. Takes 1 sneeze. Don't be so lax just cuz you are outside. Not sure how much soccer you've played, but sounds like a lot. Your example of "I.e.: spit flying, close contact" is...
Most of what you said is true :) But re: these Burnaby guys, they weren't distancing in these photos. Youth players have to play miles apart, but these adults don't? New studies are coming out that the virus hangs in the air longer than believed possible. Small mortality rate, but still.
Ya that tournament was very cool for our locals. Not possible for BCSPL teams to participate though because their league runs during the SYL regular season. Maybe Metro teams could work it out schedule-wise, not sure. BCSA never would approve that though because too many top players would play...
Talk to any soccer person in Ontario that isn't employed by Ontario Soccer, OPDL, or League 1 Ontario and they will tell you their "pyramid" is a disaster.
A clear pathway is needed. BC definitely has that. House to rep to metro to BCSPL to HPP to Whitecaps. Young men can then also play...
Biggest game of the year, only 11 show. 2nd bottom and just lost to the last place team blowing a 2-0 lead. You weren't unlucky. You were beat. I don't need to have seen it to know this is the truth. Show some humility, and insight, son.
Also, nit pick alert: Blue kit!? AT HOME? ON OPENING DAY? I can't stand the Whitecaps anymore. Never watch, don't plan too. Will watch York 9 vs. HFX before I watch Whitecaps again.
Nerwinski is an example of how badly the Whitecaps academy has failed - they've had pretty much the exact same coaches down there this whole time too. How have those guys not been canned? Because they win some u18 titles. Get out. Horrific output. Having a guy like Nerwinski playing RB and this...
If teams don't want the reward of promotion to A cup as a result of winning their B cup league, then they should not be in the pyramid/competition. If you don't want to be promoted, play in your municipalities beer league.
Also, sure, strong D2 teams who win would move up. Guess what? Hot D3...
Terrible excuse not to go up. The whole point in playing in FVSL/VMSL/VISL is to win and move up. If that's not the goal, then play in the local municipality beer league.
I am not an organizer of these leagues, but it makes no sense to me either. BCSPL should just be BCSPL Division 1, Metro Division 2, Division 3 so on and so forth down the tiers. Call it what it is.
