2005 Croatian Summer Tourney!!!

The 2005 season is about to start and once again 12 teams will be competing for the coveted H.Lj.N.T. trophy. Defending champs Zagorje will be opening up the tourney against Herceg-Bosna. Looks to be a tough season as all 12 teams have a decent squad. This year we got rid of the 2 division format and everybody is in the same pool and everybody plays each other. 11 regular season games. Top 8 make the playoffs. Opening day is May 8 at the Richmond Picnic Grounds all are welcome.

Over 170 players registered.

7 on 7 soccer.

finishing last, getting megged a trillion times, BJB on all star team again... , scoring a natural hatrick on vratar , your only bright spot is that new player BJB managed to sign.

All kidding aside, BJB and company once again are doing a great job at organizing this turnir. I like the new format and the teams appear to be more even this year.

Easy on the trash talk, Vratar. I played two games for DalZAg last year and I scored on you during one of them. DalZAg's top seven can go toe to toe with anyone. As with all the teams, it's the depth that will be the deciding factor.. . and this year DalZag is just a bit deeper. We got rid of the grizzle and added some more meat. . .we should do just fine.

Week 2 saw some good action.

We got our first win of the year... with a big victory over the potato eaters. Bronco scored too in a lopsided victory over kordun. and no it wasnt' an own goal.

We take a week off this upcoming long weekend and return to action for a double header Saturday and Sunday May 28/29.

On another note, The captain made his debut at the Tourney. The game was well reffed as there were only 2 comments thrown at the captain. Which is good for a Croat soccer game.

Yes, I really enjoyed the second game after a bit of a hostile first game.

It appeared that several guys on the one team didn't like Aaron Keay and he eventually retaliated...........

It is a great atmosphere at the Sidaway location and there were many people enjoying the festivities. Thanks, Bronco, for the beers. Very much appreciated, except by my liver. Next one is on me......

Another great weekend of Soccer action.... a few sunburn out there, and a lot of beer consumed. Also to note, another TTP'er has made his debut at the tourney. Walks has been officially initiated to the Croat Summer league. After the game, Walks was considering gettin Croatian Citezenship!! First the Captain, now Walks?? Whose next.... Everyone wants to be a Croat!!!

This set up a #1 seed vs #2 seed Final.

After 60 min of scoreless action, Hajduk took out HercegBosna 3:2 on penalties. Great game by both teams!!!
