Very favorable draw. We have managed to avoid both Mexico and USA in the third round should we win our group Leaving us with Hondurus. Canada needed a break like this.

Looks good for sure, maybe a world cup appearance for the first time in almost 30 years.

Are we talking about the same MNT that played against Guadalupe for 85 mins with an extra player and only beat them 1-0 , with the goal coming from a pk. That's not even a country. Puerto Rico will be a difficult game but if it's the same team we saw in the gold cup with the likes of dunfield n co..... Then we won't be qualifying for anything.

TORONTO - Toronto will host three Canadian home games on the road to qualifying for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

The Canadian Soccer Association announced Tuesday that the Canadian men's national team will face St. Kitts and Nevis on Sept. 2, Puerto Rico on Oct. 11 and St. Lucia on Nov. 15, with all three games at Toronto's BMO field. The four teams play each other twice, once on home soil and once on the road.

Canada will play in Puerto Rico on Sept. 7, in St. Lucia on Oct. 7 and in St. Kitts on Nov. 11.

The three matches are CONCACAF Round 2 qualifiers for the Brazil World Cup. The group winner moves on to Round 3.

A total of 24 teams are competing in CONCACAF Round 2, with each of the six group winners joining the United States, Jamaica, Mexico, Costa Rica, Honduras and Cuba in Round 3.

I predict the Canadian Media virtually ignore Canada's WCQ campaign and the MNT somehow find a way to cokc it up in this next stage. And - the average Canadian won't even notice or care because it's hockey season.

We have to play six road games.

I'm all out of optimism when it comes to our MNT.

Please - prove me wrong!

I like Ireland's group to be honest. :) The Occupied Six aren't quite as fortunate.

Top two automatically qualify, right?

I believe the top team qualifies automatically and the top 8 second place teams go into the knock out stage for the final four spots. 13 total.

Europe gets 14 spots. 9 groups. Winners all automatically qualify as well as best 2nd place team. Remaining 2nd place teams play home and home to determine final 4 spots.
