And the holiday tradition continues, Canada vs USA

The usual battle so far.

Anyone else think Canada's power play is brutal? Everyone seems to want to stick handle around the power play.

And to add to that, why the hell are the defence deflecting shots on their own net? MacDonald is not having an easy time.

Seems no one wants too shoot for sure. There was a couple times I saw what should have been an easy one timer into a nearly open net and it was a pass or try to settle first. Just friggin shoot FFS.

I found the numerous broadcasts of pre exhibition games riveting.

the team definitely lacks a bit of excitement with no "Crosby-like" player to watch.

Hopefully the old 'getting warmed up' theme and 'peaking at the right time' mentality applies here...

This is NOT last year's team by any stretch; the finish is just not there. Lots of defensive brain farts too, like Yoda already mentioned. These guys will be lucky to get to the next round.

What does that say for Canada?

Are we doomed as far as having a chance to win this?

This year. There are always upsets I understand but Canada loses to US with an average performance, then squeaks past the Swiss, and the US destroys 10-1.

I guess today's game will be a bit of an indicator but I just don't see Canada having the team to do it this year, or even medal.
