I see Japan are in the open tournament now. Was there a play-off again this year to determine who got in?
Who's not in this year?...USA?

Why's that? ;)

No playoff/qualification round this year as there wasn't enough time to arrange.

Yes, USA moved up into the 30s and have been asking for that for a couple of years now.
Croatia dropped out unfortunately in the 30s, so the Yankees moved up an age bracket, and Japan is now in.

I kind of thought Portugal Open would have been relegated out of the tournament after their showing last year....

Portugal 0-7 India
Portugal 2-9 Croatia
Africa 3-1 Portugal

Topics like that continue to be debated and discussed for all age groups Dezza to ensure the tourney is as competitive as it can be.

There are no formal promotion or relegation policies in effect right now.

Random except for the two Open Finalists from last year.
They are separated first I'm quite sure.

That said, again, this is another consideration that's been addressed.

Personally I'd prefer no seeding as once you seed teams there's a risk you might start seeing the same faces in the semis.
Just my opinion to make sure its always a mix and if you draw a group of death - Too bad.
(Yes, that was meant for you CIC)

Ireland 7 - Canada 6 in a friendly last night in Ladner.
Or vice versa.

Seriously it was a goalfest and I lost count of the score, and my beers obviously...

That said, both teams looking great as usual.

@sid sent me a note re: Ireland O40s this morning. I predict they will definitely win at the bar, we shall see on the pitch.

Have a great tourney, lads. Looks like another cooker!
