Fair enough. I know the same thing has happened to West Van the other way around. Plus theres the games in hand/points lost thing...never heard of it being a random draw before.
Sorry, correct, it is points per game to determine which seed is which.
I thought the quarters were random because it went 1, 4, 2, 3; however I see it is this way in all the cup competitions.
Not sure if the bye was random or if it was granted to West Van as Seed 1. In the other competitions the byes were random, but all the seeds were already into the second round. Would assume West Van assigned the bye based on being #1 overall.
So the quarter finals are set...no real surprises in the first round. All of the Div 1 teams got worked over pretty good save for Bulldogs. And two Div 1 teams drew each other that round. Anyway. quarter finals:
West Van vs Croatia. Croatia, specifically Didar, have been tricky for West Van this year, but West Van are on form. West Van 2 Croatia 0.
EDC Inter vs Columbus. Both teams are very dangerous up front. EDC has been able to shut teams down in cup, especially two years ago. Based on home field advantage, EDC 2 Columbus 1.
Surrey Pegasus Temple vs Green Devils. Pegasus are not in a good mood these days, and this is a big step up for the Devils. Peg 4 Green Devils 0.
PCOV vs Norvan. Norvan has been getting better as the year goes on. It will be interesting to see what Norvan side some of the players will be cup tied to. PCOV are still champs though. Norvan's depth problem gets exposed and their BCs bid ends here. PCOV 3 Norvan 1.
It took two late Chinter goals to beat Rinos. Based on that decent display they should take the promotion imo.
WestVan vs Croatia:
Not much to choose from in the season series with 1-1 and 3-3 ties. However we scored more goals if we include the own goal.
Chinter vs Colombus:
Honestly this game could go either way if we look at stats and is 'game of the round' imo. I think Colombus has more weapons going forward and edges this one out. Were Chinner and Eggy late acquisitions?...solid additions. This weekend's league game will be a good preview.
Pegasus vs Green Devils:
4-0 won't be enough..could be a lot uglier!
PCOV vs Norvan :
Both PCOV and Norvan's top marksmen registered hat tricks vs their div.1 opponents in the first round. Norvan, similar to Croatia, have all to play for here and may just be the hungrier of the sides but it's hard to bet against PCOV who also won the season series. PCOV in a close one!
