Well after several failed attempts, Berti and the Scotland side have finally generated their first win. Beating Iceland 2 - nil is hardly grounds for starting to plan the Euro 2004 parade route, but its a much needed step up from the last result against the Faroes.

Not surprising that Scotland's goals today came from a defender and a wing-back. Is there a front runner ANYWHERE in Scotland who can put the ball in the back of the net??

Bring on Canada !!!

No worries Willy,

The following list is from the Hibees Bounce forums and it shows that Scotland is the greatest footballing nation of all time.

The premise of this list is the same as (the intention of) the world champion title in boxing. Whoever beats the current world champion becomes the new world champion. The list starts at the second ever international match as the first was a scoreless draw.

Berti's second win was almost as impressive as the first. Another dream start from Canada. Shame the following 81 minutes got in the way.

I'm still in shock that Daniel Imhoff was passed over for MOTM honors. The pride of the Smithers Soccer Association couldn't check his bloody coat today.

Sportsnet should seriously consider pairing up Derry Gobson with Craig McEwen for their next broadcast. That would be incredibly amazing.

Imhoff??? I'm surprised Holger wasn't shouting "You'rehoff". Devlin had his way with him up and down that flank.

In all honesty, the Canucks were unlucky not to be granted another PK after Wilkie's flawless impression of Dominik Hasek on the edge of the six yard box

Ah well, given the lack of starters in the line-up (Lambert and Ferguson missing from central midfield) and the eventual parade of U21 players who were subbed in during the final 15 minutes, its a reasonable result for the Scots. And likely a good bit of experience for the Canadian lads as well.

Piece 'a piss. Who's next ???

Scotland / England

I can almost hear collective sighs of relief around training pitches in the Lower Mainland and throughout TTP as many Scots probably are thanking God above and of course Berti Vogts as the Scottish turn over the Canadians.

If it had gone the other way, TTP would never be the same ........

I know Craig and I'm pretty sure he doesn't "swing" that way...

Gobson - "He certainly is the best looking Canadian out there, especially with that new hair cut"

Lennord Bobbaduzzi caught on quick and produced a classic TTP moment by calling Gobson on what he just said :D

Probably the only good thing to come outta the broadcast

Why the hell is poodlehead still on our national team? He's our creative general? Please... you might as well have Dazza in there

Why wasn't Craig Forrest on the broadcast team? I'm guessing it's because after the world cup they didn't have any makeup left to do him up in his favored "chinadoll" look. Fcuking guy blew the whole cosmetics budget for the year already.
