No, thank you. No human can turn water into wine, and Soccercoach would not do it on principle.

Equality among humans is a core principle and the lack of it, symbolically or materially, eventually touches the football soccer spheres.

"...Kings succeed each other, not as rationals, but as animals. It signifies not what their mental or moral characters are. Can we then be surprised at the abject state of the human mind in monarchical countries, were the government and society itself is formed on such an abject levelling system?..."

Those who do not see the absurdity of the monarchy can not the see absurdity in which they run their football national teams.

At the end the results do not lie: World Cup 2014: Costa Rica, Uruguay, Italy and at the far bottom England.

Lost for words.
Jigsaw,
First of all. It is a very interesting picture that touches in history of the social institutions in both countries and the results achieved by their national federations.

I do not have anything against people born in the United Kingdom. Many of my closest friends and previous girlfriends are from there. The explanation is simply a social commentary.

First look at the objective evidence:
Since 1966, Argentina has been at 4 World Cup Finals (winning two), 2 Olympic Finals (winning 2), 7 Continental Finals (winning 2), 7 U20 World Cup Finals (winning 6!), and at least three super stars: Maradona, Messi, Riquelme, and Batistuta.
VERY IMPRESSIVE

Since 1966, England has had 0 World Cup Finas, 0 Olympic Finals, 0 Continental Finals, 0 U20 World Cup Finals, 0 super stars.
A COMPLETE FAILURE

The evidence is clear on which of the two nations has been the most successful since 1966. No argument with the facts. Hence, you see Rattin holding the fragile older Queen in his arms. From their first encounter in 1966, there is no doubt that one nation has been triumphant with respect to the other one.

The issue is what has held back one with respect to the other one?

There is a clear reference to "La Boca". A poor neighbourhood, often associated with radical politics and bohemian lifestyles. Where some of the best footballers in the country and the world have been forged.

This is a clear contrast to the situation in England where the Monarchy and upper classes have a grip on the structure of the FA and the development of players (even if they come from lower classes). For example, the Duke of Cambridge (Prince William) is the current FA President).

The Monarchy and all the belief and values that represent are simply an outdated and inefficient way of organizing, allocating and managing resources. It does not yield the same results of extreme competition, where positions (on the field and off the field) are not given by privilege but by merit. A ruthless jungle of the survival of the fittest (both in the field, coaching, and management positions).

The picture has other references like the 1996 World Cup was a fix due to expulsion of Rattin (I do not know if you have seen videos of the expulsion, but it was quite blatantly fabricated and at least led to the creation of yellow and red cards and supervision of referees).

It also makes reference to the dynamic of many English Women coming to be seduced to the Tango halls. A very rich picture in so many aspects.

You know. This is not about nationalism. It is simply about two vastly different social process. Like the rats in laboratory experiment. One is full of hungry and poor people who have to compete to put a meal in the table. The other is governed and managed by those who have been born with a silver spoon. No incentive to become really good at it.

Wow, somebody seems to be still in a playground... Not surprising that those comments are coming from the rural ice cream giver bronze girl's coach...

Ummmmm.....it's Div 3 now? And coaching now matter what level is awesome. You coach to the players that need it, not your own ego.

The playground is normal in all societies. There are kids who get along- maybe get in the odd scrap but generally have respect for one another- then there is the one oddball kid who pokes the other kids with a stick, then runs to the teacher when he gets beat up. Guess which one you are?

That said, this is obviously something obviously above you. I do not expect you to be capable of grasping the analogy.

You are preaching the converted when it comes to the thought that coaching is a very nice experience regardless the level. I am glad that you are moving to adult coaching now. Good for you.

As for the playground, analogy, kids in the playground can get upset when they still believe in Saint Claus and few others points it out to the evidence that there is no Saint Claus. Then the calling of names and the bullying starts.

For the record, some of you guys start and then get upset when the facts are displayed. I could care less about this thread.
The problems with the performance of the England teams are more than formations. They are deeply rooted on organizational issues. People with such rich history and passion for the game deserve a more successful national team.
