Re: EURO 2012 Groups

Speaking of Ireland - Saw that segment on McGeady on the Tele when profiling them.
I never knew the real story on him playing for Ireland instead of Scotland.
A bit like Hargreaves with Canada but I felt it to be a bit more of a loyalty kind of thing out of McGeady.

I stand corrected on him.

Weird though how he refers to Scotland (Or Glasgow) as 'back home'.

Agreed, calling Glasgow home is like calling Sarah Jessica Parker attractive, you just don't admit or announce things like that to the world.

Kick-off in a few minutes......Greeks 1-0 in a snooze-fest, and then later in a much more entertaining game, the Russians 2-1

But it is a game. Seems like forever since the EPL and other leagues ended and this started. I predict the Euro to drop by at least 2% against major currencies over the next month due to lack of productivity, while stocks of Heineken and Carlsberg soar.

can't believe the officiating has already taken over. greece player's second yellow was very questionable and the pk in the polish box a couple minutes later not given. i hope this isn't a common thing throughout the tourney.

Great first game! What a way to sub on....you walk on the field and completely stone the penalty shooter!

I just don't understand how these guys can miss penalty kicks. 99.99% of the saves that are made are on the low shots (waist high and lower). Just slam it high, either corner or even right down the middle, no problem, what's wrong with these guys:confused:

high = baggio, middle = cocky and you look stupid if you miss. Its a guessing game for the keeps, nice save by the back up. hell of a game that was to watch.

The reason why the shooters shoot low is that you rarely miss the net and if you don't score it can be blamed on the keeper for making a great save...not you blasting it high over the bar and into the crowd!
