Brazil 1-0 Switzerland
Official FIFA WYC website said:
World Champions Brazil were made to sweat by a talented Swiss side but emerged victorious 1-0 in Emmen on Wednesday and jump to the top of Group F at the FIFA World Youth Championship Netherlands 2005. A 14th-minute header from defender Gladstone was all that separated the sides in a match that began brilliantly but, as a spectacle, ended disappointingly as the South Americans preserved their advantage.

Syria 2-1 Italy
Official FIFA WYC website said:
Syria produced one of the shocks of the FIFA World Youth Championship Netherlands 2005 as they deservedly earned a thrilling win over Italy, who now sit at the bottom of Group E after a night of great drama in Tilburg.

Goals in either half proved the undoing of Italy, who are still pointless after two games and in desperate trouble of heading for a first round exit. The best they can hope for now is to beat Canada in Kerkrade on Saturday and hope to finish as one of the best third-placed teams in the tournament groups.

Japan 1-1 Benin
Official FIFA WYC website said:
Once again, brave Benin let a hard-earned lead slip away as they allowed Japan to steal their first point in Group A at Netherlands 2005.

Supersub Koki Mizuno's bending free-kick equalised a first-half snapshot from Abou Maiga to give Japan a share of the spoils in the second match for both sides at the FIFA World Youth Championship Netherlands 2005. Despite being reduced to ten men with 20 minutes left, the African debutants are still undefeated as they picked up their second point of the campaign with a second 1-1 draw on the trot at Kerkrade's Parkstad Limburg Stadium.

Netherlands 3-0 Australia
Official FIFA WYC website said:
The Dutch kept up their sizzling form with a 3-0 hiding of Australia in the second match for both sides at the FIFA World Youth Championship Netherlands 2005. The Australians simply had no answer for the smashing form of their hosts, roared on incessantly by a packed house at the Parkstad Limburg Stadium in Kerkrade.

Korea 2-1 Nigeria
Official FIFA WYC website said:
An injury-time winner from Baek Ji-Hoon three minutes after Park Chu-young had redeemed himself by scoring a sensational free kick gave Korea Republic a 2-1 win over Nigeria in their second match of Group F at the FIFA World Youth Championship Netherlands 2005 and sent their band of Red Devil supporters home happy.
