Is it really sad though? Does this impact you or your family directly? Are you physically suffering from this development? Has it increased world hunger/conflict/poverty?

It's just another business gone belly up. Nothing more. This whole fiasco is like people who drown in credit card debt, go to the Casino with their last 20 bucks thinking they can win enough to extricate themselves and end up with even more debt because Tony the Shark fronted them another 5K.

RIP (Rot In Peace) Rangers and get back to sound business practices. This applies to all clubs across Europe who keep spending and spending while their national economies putrify under the crush of financial malpractice.

End Rant.

I wish I had tourettes or some other reason for thinking you are a sanctimonious cnut.
60 thousand fans, filthy people, but people none the less, have lost the best thing in their lives. Hundreds
will lose jobs. This due to an error in accounting. Get off your soap box. 14 points clear however is very nice.

They did cheat, mishandled money and betrayed their fans not to mention 140 years of history. No matter what end of the 'filthy':)rolleyes:) side of the tracks you're on, it's an embarrassment and a sad day for Scottish football. Whether it was coming or not.....

At least there will always be the excuse of '......if we hadn't been deducted 10 points, we would have won the league.....by a dawdle';)

Come on The 'Well!;)

While I'm a Gers Man myself...financial mismanagement is ruining football around the globe. Hopefully this means a real correction and not a sneaky move by a clever businessman to skirt the taxman.

The football world won't learn, Leeds are an example. It's not the first time its happened. And what happens when Citys owner or abromivich walks away from their clubs, who pays those wage and debt bills?

Nobody, if/when the sugar daddy walks- everyone loses.

If FIFA and UEFA were smart, and they're not... they'd implement, not a salary cap, but hard/fast rules intended to keep the game feasible. Currently the "big clubs" are the clubs owned by Sugar Daddies that run the clubs in a non-sustainable fashion. I doubt Abramovich has generations of familiy history supporting Chelsea, and I doubt generations of his family is interested in owning the club...

I'm not saying we need it for parity on the pitch, and I'm not advocating for a salary cap, but sanctions should be put on teams who are spending more than their turnover. The FA's should not allow clubs to sign players unless they can show that they're operating in a sustainable fashion.

JBN stay on topic please. Your post sounds like we are discussing POCO Premier!

Fortunately, DB, Celtic were ALREADY 4 points ahead.........:D

Several weeks ago and it would have been an issue.

I wish you had Tourette's too, it would explain you personal slag beyond inability to argue intelligently on the subject and separate argument from arguer.

And only intelligent people can dissociate their emotional well-being from a for-profit corporation.

That's a pretty broad statement to make. Football has changed in that the cheese behind the locked doors, throwing money about irresponsibly that it doesn't have, making rash decisions, are the ones that disassociate their emotional well being from their for-profit corporation. I would argue their intelligence.
The average supporter who truly loves his/her football team, in this case Rangers, don't look at their emotional well being vs a corporation because to be honest, that's not what they see their team as.
They see it as their boyhood legends, winning titles, the euphoria of being the best (albeit only in Scotland......and in 1972 in the best European Cup Winners:D). They see it as all they have....and believe me, in a lot of cases, that is all they have

That doesn't make them unintelligent. It makes them football fans. I'm not throwing a dig at you or your opinion, but you truly haven't loved a team given your stance. If you had, I think you'd understand.

Fair play and I appreciate your points, they are good ones.

You are very right in saying I have never truly loved a club team - I only truly love national teams. Catholic or Protestant, Catalan or Castillian, black or white, these teams show what can be done when differences are put aside for sport and can strengthen an entire nation much like Spain with its recent success or South Africa as depicted in Invictus.

My dad and uncle shaped my view of professional club sports at many a dinner table back in Italy. Our family's beloved Team AC Milan was soiled in the Totonero scandal and it left a bitter taste in their mouths which I inherited I suppose. These were the days of yore when the jerseys only bore team badges and colors. I can't bring myself to cheer for club teams of today as ardently as I do national ones, it just feels like cheering for corporations. Imagine this zany, totally unrealistic scenario where corporations field teams of players purchased for money with no other allegiance to the club than a quarter million quid a week: "Today's match-ups are AON vs. Standard Chartered, Etihad Airlines vs. Fly Emirates, and Pirelli vs. Wind Mobile." Hey wait a second here...

Question: What's the difference between a female hun, and a pitbull?

Answer: Lipstick.

Q: What have Rangers got in common with a three pin plug?

A: Both are useless in Europe! ha ha!!!

Rumour has it that Rangers have a new team sponsor:- Tampax.
The board thought it was an appropriate change as the club is going through a very bad period.
