Montreal Impact announced Thursday that it has created a unique partnership with a Canadian alcohol safety company to provide breathalyzers for supporters attending home matches.

Starting with Saturday's match at the Saputo Stadium against the Philadelphia Union, the club will offer single-use breathalyzers in seven suites and a team of 10 will great supporters on the concourse and provide rides for those that exceed legal alcohol levels.

"The partnership with the Montreal Impact is a unique opportunity to help us spread the message that fans can have fun and return home in a responsible manner," Stephane Maurais, CEO of Alco Prevention Canada, told reporters.

"Supporters can enjoy the match, while monitoring their blood alcohol level with precision. We are pleased to work with the Impact, who becomes a trailblazer with this important initiative."

Impact director of partnerships Rino Folino told the club's website: "We are proud of this new partnership that will provide supporters with an option for a safe return home. Our organization promotes ethical and responsible behaviour when it comes to alcohol consumption."
