ACBC now I see why you are up beat about PCSL. Dam nice to see you guys there.
Shnell is the word for that league. Fitness will be huge adventage this year. It is also nice to se Chistian boys back in to it. Now Khalsa will be getting bit of compotition.
It should be interasting to see who the playoff teams are going to be this year. Make sure you guys ask for new pitch on the Burnaby complex.

So what team is the PCSL chosing to represent them in the Provincial Cup this year?

Victoria won the league but I will assume they have turned down the BC spot. If Surrey United takes it, not sure what players they could put together...

Expect Kelowna to be much stronger this year. Chis Bennet is invalved in the U21 and girls program. I am dam sure he will try to take over in time. With help from U21 that gives them more go. UBC is strong but striking is gods afull. Khalsa is always strong
and does have good side. As fars what club will represent PCSL in provintial play down it goes by pecking order. From one to fifth spot one club will go.

PCSL--every year is a 4-5 team race.

the top teams are always a lot stronger than the bottom.

always Khalsa, Victoria, Trinity (FV), UBC, Seattle

last year : surrey

...........same story.....those top teams in the PCSL could easily contend in the VMSL.

Next year: Victoria ----to go down b/c of the PDL...same story as Whitecaps last year...sad...end of some of the top sides to the PCSL

...Enough talent in the lower mainland to make it competitive, but the interior teams, PSSA are a joke.

---the PDL has taken 2 of the top sides in the PCSL in the last 3 years

Victoria seems pretty confident they'll continue to be strong, despite PDL. PDL is u23 league, so senior players will still be in the PCSL.

On the women's side, top teams should remain the same. Xtreme (now Coquitlam Metro-Ford), Victoria, Whitecaps and Fraser Valley should be top four. Surrey is always a wild card in the summer. The real key on the womens side is what happens with the W-League Whitecaps. They still haven't named a coach. And there's indication the connection with the national program might be less apparent. This could mean more local players back into the pro side - which would be good. Of course, if they hire a twit to coach, might drive players away from the 'Caps and into the PCSL.

The Seattle Wolves have advised the PCSL Directors that due to the loss ofmajor sponsorhips suffered by the club as a result of the recession in theUSA the Seattle Wolves have withdrawn from the Pacific Coast Soccer Leaguewith immediate effect due to lack of funds. All of their games on the 2009PCSL men's premier schedule are thus cancelled. With both PSSA Rapids and Seattle Wolves suffering similar fates, there willbe no travel to the USA in 2009 for any of our clubs.

The 2 American teams have now dropped out of the PCSL. Leaveing 9 all Canadian teams.
Not what I wanted to hear as its our first year in the PCSL and we are so pumped for some good Summer footy and travel.
But I do understand the whole economy thing as everyone is being effected.

You are completely wrong about the PDL being a U-23 league. Check out the ABBY and Victoria signings.

PDL rules dictate that a maximum of eight players on each team's 26-man roster can be over 23 years old, while at least three players on each team's roster must be 18 or younger.

USL Premier Development League
The top U23 men’s league in North America, the USL Premier Development League (PDL) features 68 teams within four conferences across the United States and Canada. The PDL season consists of 16 regular season matches for each team, eight home and eight away. The PDL provides elite collegiate players the opportunity to taste a higher level of competition while maintaining their eligibility. In addition to league play, PDL teams compete in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup as well as various exhibitions. The USL Premier Development League has proven to be an important stepping stone for top professionals now playing around the world.

Expect the Challenge to be very strong this year, rumour has it that about 6 or 7 SFU lads are moving to kelowna for the summer and will make up the core of the team.

The challenge had some SFU hooks last year also and could only manage to win 3 out of 18 games. They were shocking. Hopefully this changes for the league's sake, but sad that the biggest city outside of the lower mainland needs to import half its team to be competitive. Kamloops goes straight local and managed to win at least 7.

Ghouse - You must be rattled with your old city. What happened to the challenge glory days?

Well it isn't our fault that Kelowna obviously isn't offering enough local players to make them compete, and there was actually only 1 SFU player on the challenge last year, so will be a considerable difference this year Ryerson
