They are going on without him. They are using a brilliant session fellow from Wales named Pino Pallidino to try to replace him. The first show at the Hollywood bowl was supposedly fantastic and emotional and all that, i have very mixed feelings about it as he's my favourite musician ever as you might be able to notice if you listen for influences on any undermars recordings.. ha ha. anyway. He was the best and he was a nice guy and i'll miss him in that way you really miss people you don't know.... see you in div 1. PGU!!

R&B singer Barry White, known for his deep seductive voice on such sultry hits as Can't Get Enough Of your Love, Babe has died. He was 58.

White had been hospitalized for months after suffering kidney failure.

White gained famed during the 1970s disco era.

His hits included "You're the First, the Last, My Everything" and "It's Ecstasy When You Lay Down Next To Me."

"Too bad . . . ."

We regret to inform you that Doug Bennett, lead singer of Doug & The Slugs, died on Saturday, October 16th at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary. He was admitted to hospital on October 9th, suffering acute symptoms from a long-standing illness. He lost consciousness soon after his arrival and remained in a coma on life support until he passed away.

Mr. Bennett was born in Toronto in 1951, moved to Vancouver in 1973 and formed Doug & The Slugs in 1977. The Slugs had many hits including; Too Bad, Day By Day, Making It Work, Tomcat Prowl, among others. The Slugs toured extensively throughout Canada and the US over the past 27 years.

Our thoughts and condolences are with his family and we ask that their privacy be respected during this difficult time. There will be a memorial service in Vancouver, date and place TBA.

'Godfather of Soul' James Brown dies

James Brown, the dynamic, pompadoured ''Godfather of Soul'' whose rasping vocals and revolutionary rhythms made him a founder of rap, funk and disco, died early Monday.

Brown was hospitalized with pneumonia and congestive heart failure at Emory Crawford Long Hospital on Sunday. He died from a heart attack around 1:45 a.m. Monday. Longtime friend Charles Bobbit was by his side, Brown's agent, Frank Copsidas of Intrigue Musiche, said. Brown was 73.
