SFU was official accepted into the NCAA today becoming the first non-american school to do so.

Personally, I think this is HUGE news on a couple of fronts, especially from a soccer standpoint.

From my understanding, while scholarship money totals are pretty comparable to current totals, the rules do allow a certain number of full ride scholarships.

The ramifications could be huge.

Will kids now lean heavily towards SFU instead of UBC/TWU?

Is this another piece of the puzzle in developing better players here in BC?

I would imagine it depends on the sport.

SFU was always a bit different anyways since they didn't play CIS - they were/are an NAIA school.

NCAA II is a step up from NAIA in terms of quality teams and skill. Their conference has never been exceptional compared to north east and southern conferences though.
