Because of the upcoming Christmas break, the following will be the final 2014 edition of Sir M's Excellent Power Rankings. Lets get at it:

1. Poco Euro-Rite Castillians (VMSL) (last week's ranking: 1). PERC continue to roll, this last week pounding Shaheera 7-2. First place in VMSL Masters Premier.
2. Westside FC M A (VMSL) (last week's ranking: 6). Westside keeps beating highly ranked teams, including handing the #1 ranked Poco their only loss thus far in league play. Currently second in VMSL.
3. North Delta SC Rangers (FVSL) (last week's ranking: 2). North Delta are bossing FVSL Masters Div 1, an emphatic 3 goal win over the upstart Surrey United moves them eight points clear at the top of the table.
4. West Van FC M (VMSL) (last week's ranking: 3). An away win at PCOV, an away tie to Romanians and an unexpected loss to Shaheen drops this side one spot. Currently in third spot in VMSL.
5. Romanian FC M (VMSL) (last week's ranking 4). This side continues to surge, it might be from all that Ciorba de Periosare. Fifth place in VMSL, and just three adrift of the top of the table.
6. Delta United (FVSL) (last week's ranking: 5). Delta United finds themselves eight back of first going into the Christmas break, and need to pick things up in the new year. They tend to over drink during the holiday season. Currently in second spot in FVSL.
7. SFC Temple United A (FVSL) (last week's ranking: 13). Temple are back in the top ten of the rankings after moving up in the FVSL, including a 6-1 drubbing of Poco Dominion on the weekend. Currently fourth in FVSL.
8. Portuguese Club of Vancouver M A (VMSL) (last week's ranking: 7). This team has now dropped down the table in VMSL. Staff report that they are currently short of staff, and are looking forward to a break where they will regroup by sipping Mateus from a bag and smoking cigarettes in the 1100 Commercial.
9. PMO Rangers FC (FVSL) (last week's ranking: 12). PMO has clawed their way back into the top four in FVSL over the past few weeks. Staff, due to a recent road trip to Washington State which included, amongst other things, a cheezies binge, cannot recall how many BCs spots are allotted to the FVSL.
10. Columbus FC M A (VMSL) (last week's ranking: 10). The Columbus players continue to have difficulty scoring. Nothing a few Hail Marys will not fix.
11. Croatia SC M A (VMSL) (last week's ranking: 9). The current defending VMSL Premier Champs continue to struggle to find consistency. Down to seventh spot now in the VMSL, and are suddenly within four points of the relegation zone. New Manager David Moyzes may be a factor, staff report.
12. Surrey United (FVSL) (last week's ranking: 11). Staff were optimistic about this old club's ascendancy in the rankings. Then all of a sudden they ran into the big kids: an ensuing 3-0 loss to North Delta on the weekend drops SU one spot. Currently fifth in FVSL.
13. Coquitlam Metro-Ford Rovers (VMSL) (last week's ranking: 20). Two shutout wins on the trot moves MF within four points of moving out of the relegation zone, and just one adrift of eighth placed Shaheen.
14. Coastal FC Peace Arch (FVSL) (last week's ranking: 8). Coastal, after a promising run earlier in the year, have suddenly dropped to sixth place in FVSL.
15. Roma (NSCL) (last week's ranking: 19). Roma, under the stewardship of the Pep Guardiola of North Shore masters football, moves up after recent victories, and are the only currently unbeaten team in Sir M's Excellent Power Rankings.
16. Shaheen FC M (VMSL) (last week's ranking: 14). This is a mercurial side; and also hard to predict. Currently eighth in VMSL.
17. Coastal FC Alumni (FVSL Div 2) (last week's ranking: 16). These old boys continue to get things done. They will have to watch the waistlines over the holidays. Still top of the table in FVSL Div 2 Masters.
18. Vancouver United Rangers (VMSL Div 1) (last week's
ranking: 15). This side drops after a loss on the weekend. Staff reports that they were without several key players out with a bout of hubris. Top of Div 1 VMSL Masters.
19. West Van Flying Horses (VMSL Div 1) (last week's ranking: 17). The Horses have slipped to third place in VMSL Div 1 Masters.
20. Falconetti's East Side (VMSL Div 1) (last week's ranking: not ranked). This side is named after a featured restaurant on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives which is famous for its sausage parties.

That is it for this week. All the best to all of the rankings supporters over the Christmas and holiday season.

Staff are clearly trying to obtain their end of year incentive bonuses after months of slacking off taking advantage of the newly passed laws in Washington state. They have come up now with an odds chart as to who will finish top of the VMSL Masters Premier table. Who knows, they may in fact prognositicate (no Ballbaby that does not mean having nasal cosmetic surgery) as to who they believe will finish atop of the rankings at the end of the season. In any event, here are the aforementioned odds for the VMSL Masters Premier teams to win the league title.

Odds to take the VMSL Masters Premier League Title 2014/2015:

Port Coquitlam Euro Rite Castillians: 1:12
Westside FC M A: 6:1
West Van FC M: 9:1
PCOV M A: 15:1
Romanian FC M: 22:1
Columbus FC M A: 190:1

All other teams are not in contention for the title at this stage.

Stay tuned as I originally thought that staff were suffering from mononucleosis, but after further analysis, I get a sense now that they are just bored.

Will the Vancouver United Rangers make the top 10 in the rankings for second half of the season? That loss before the break messed them up a bit, hopefully they will be able to turn things around to start the New Year.

I think as usual I will do a big one before the BCs including our VISL folks. They are about due back from their annual Carmanah chain themselves to trees trek I believe; I heard they are running low on the supplies they picked up in Sequim.

Well it looks like the Pork Chops have done quite well as they have leap frogged both WV and Westside and have a chance to knock off the #1 seed this up coming weekend. Could prove to make quite an impact when Sir M posts his Excellent Power Rankings!!

For sure some of the higher ranked teams certainly limped into the end of the season. Not a good sign...
