This week, a quick and dirty (no not you Dancing Bear) latest edition of Sir M's Excellent Power Rankings 2014-2015:

1. Poco Euro-Rite Castillians (VMSL) (last week's ranking: 1).
The reigning BC Champs continue to pile up the goals (albeit both for and against) and have a striker who is not Jack The Lad running away with the Golden Boot thus far. An emphatic 4-2 thumping of Metro Ford keeps them #1 in the rankings. Much like the nasty rash on RF's nether region, they are experiencing a bit of a purple patch these days.
2. Delta United (FVSL) (last week's ranking: 3). Delta United moves up a spot after their 1-0 win over a strong SFC Sikh Temple side. Currently in second spot in FVSL.
3. North Delta SC Rangers (FVSL) (last week's ranking: 4). NDSCR (phew) sit top of the table in the FVSL after their win over Poco Dominion this last weekend. Up one spot in the rankings. However they were unable to leap over Delta United. But that is a whole zoning thing anyway.
4. Westside FC M A (VMSL) (last week's ranking: 8). Westside keeps beating highly ranked teams at home. 4-1 over VMSL league leaders PCOV this last weekend moves them into the top four. Currently fourth in VMSL.
5. West Van FC M (VMSL) (last week's ranking: 6). An away win at Columbus on Friday moves them up one spot in the rankings. Currently in third spot in VMSL.
6. Portuguese Club of Vancouver M A (VMSL) (last week's ranking: 2). This team remains top of the table in VMSL, albeit level on points with Poco and West Van. After two straight losses though, they are in a rather troubling situation after being short staffed and having to rely on part time referee Alan Pardew for scoring punch.
7. Croatia SC M A (VMSL) (last week's ranking:11). The current defending VMSL Premier Champs have gone on a bit of a recent run with two straight away wins on the North Shore. Up to sixth now in a crowded top half of the VMSL table.
8. Romanian FC M (VMSL) (last week's ranking 5). This side was idle this week. Something to do with Bela Karolyi getting married.
9. Columbus FC M A (VMSL) (last week's ranking: 7). Down two after a home loss this weekend. Currently seventh in the VMSL table, albeit just four points adrift of the league leaders.
10. Coastal FC Peace Arch (FVSL) (last week's ranking: 9). Coastal beat the notorious CCB on the weekend one goal to nil. Right there in the fight for a FVSL BCs spot.
11. Surrey United (FVSL) (last week's ranking: 15). Well have a look here: a four spot jump for SU after a 3-0 win over a ranked PMS Rangers FC side. Up to fourth spot in FVSL now.
12. SFC Temple United A (FVSL) (last week's ranking: 10). Temple are down two after a loss on the weekend and an especially spicy post game feast. Currently fifth in FVSL.
13. Vancouver United Rangers (VMSL Div 1) (last week's ranking: 14). This side is dominating VMSL Div 1 and continue to roll. Up one spot...getting into rarefied air all of a sudden. Rumour has it that depending on the civic election results, they may be picking up a mittened striker.
14. PMO Rangers FC (FVSL) (last week's ranking: 12). PMO drops after getting spanked by SU on the weekend. Currently seventh in FVSL.
15. Coastal FC Alumni (FVSL Div 1) (last week's ranking: 16). Top of the table in FVSL Div 2, this side moves up one spot in Sir M's Excellent Power Rankings.
16. West Van Flying Horses (VMSL Div I) (last week's ranking: not ranked).
The Horses draw into the rankings this week based on the fact that JAGS and Eagles are out of the country, so they won on the weekend. Currently in second spot in VMSL Div 1.
17. Roma (NSCL) (last week's ranking: 13). Roma drops after being held to a draw by an unranked side. Still first place in NSCL though.
18. Nextlevel Rapids (FVSL Div 1) (last week's ranking: 19).
The NLs continue to roll. Second spot in FVSL Div 2.
19. Howe Sound (NSCL) (last week's ranking: 17). Howe Sound drops after tying the Guardians of the Universe on the weekend. Currently second place in VMSL.
20. Nordic (VMSL) (last week's ranking: 18). A scoreless draw against the OKC Thunder drops them to 20th spot.

That is it for this week.

Great work M. Our fearless leader, Mayor Moonbeam is a Westside Original and won't be joining our NPA Rangers

FYI. Jags and Bro saved a drunk guy on Maui today and it was not me. They are getting a civic award next week.

There has been some interesting action including teams dropping out of and moving into the rankings over the last week. Further there is the whole unholy image of the topless JAGS and Bro frolicking on the beach in Maui saving drowning swimmers a la David and his estranged brother Jimmy Floyd Hasselhoff etc.

Ok, let us put aside that image for a moment now and get on with this week's edition of: Sir M's Excellent Power Rankings 2014-2015:

1. Poco Euro-Rite Castillians (VMSL) (last week's ranking: 1).
Unlike our intrepid beach side rescuers' upper torsos, there is little movement at the top this week. The reigning BC Champs stay atop of the rankings and move into first place in VMSL after an emphatic drubbing of a short handed PCOV on Monday.
2. North Delta SC Rangers (FVSL) (last week's ranking: 3). NDSCR still sit top of the table in the FVSL but move up one spot in the rankings as they tied a ranked side on the weekend, while DU stumbled to an unranked side.
3. West Van FC M (VMSL) (last week's ranking: 5). After a 5-2 win over Westside on Saturday, this team is one of three sides on 19 points atop the VMSL table, albeit with more games played than the #1 ranked PERC.
4. Romanian FC M (VMSL) (last week's ranking 8). Another win for the Romanians this week, this time against Croatia in a game where there were several oaths uttered. Currently in fourth spot in VMSL.
5. Delta United (FVSL) (last week's ranking: 2). Delta United drops after an unexpected loss on the weekend to an unranked side. Sometimes the top levels of these rankings can be unforgiving. Currently second spot in FVSL.
6. Westside FC M A (VMSL) (last week's ranking: 4). Westside drops after an away loss on the weekend. There seems to be a lot of parity in the top eight in the VMSL. Further, there is not much to choose from between all these teams. Currently fifth in VMSL.
7. Portuguese Club of Vancouver M A (VMSL) (last week's ranking: 6). This team remains in a three way tie atop of the table in VMSL. They continue to lose games by significant margins. No wins in their last three matches. Puzzling.
8. Coastal FC Peace Arch (FVSL) (last week's ranking: 10). Coastal moves up after a draw against now #2 ranked and FVSL leaders North Delta on the weekend. Currently in third spot in FVSL which staff believes should give them a BCs spot should they hold. Unless more spots are given to NSCL as is rumoured.
9. Croatia SC M A (VMSL) (last week's ranking: 7). The current defending VMSL Premier Champs slipped up again on the weekend, this time a 4-3 loss to Romanians. Sixth spot in VMSL.
10. Columbus FC M A (VMSL) (last week's ranking: 9). The Columbus players are having difficulty scoring these days. Being shut out by Shaheen drops them in the rankings. Currently seventh spot in VMSL. Staff are predicting a resurgence for this side.
11. Surrey United (FVSL) (last week's ranking: 11). Many staff have made a case that this side should move higher up in the rankings after a 10-0 drubbing of CCB Shooting Stars on the weekend, continuing a long tradition of running up the score against struggling sides. Sir M personally would be wary of anyone from Newton who claims to be good at shooting BTW. Fourth spot in FVSL now.
12. PMO Rangers FC (FVSL) (last week's ranking: 14). PMO is back up to 12th spot after a bounce back win against SFC Temple. Fifth place in FVSL currently.
13. SFC Temple United A (FVSL) (last week's ranking: 12). Temple are down another after their second straight loss. Seventh now in FVSL. They need to go on a run, nothing that post game Tandoori cannot fix, staff advise.
14. Shaheen FC M (VMSL) (last week's ranking: not ranked). A big shutout win over perennial Sir M's Excellent Power Rankings contenders Columbus leaps Shaheen into this week's rankings. This team likes to shower with their clothes on. Currently eighth in VMSL.
15. Vancouver United Rangers (VMSL Div 1) (last week's ranking: 13). This side drops after being held to a scoreless draw on the weekend. Staff report that they were missing several players with shoulder and back issues.
16. Coastal FC Alumni (FVSL Div 1) (last week's ranking: 15). Top of the table in FVSL Div 2, this side won a tight one on the weekend.
17. West Van Flying Horses (VMSL Div I) (last week's ranking: 16).
The Horses moved up a couple points in the VMSL Div 1 standings but drop one in the rankings. Currently in second spot in VMSL Div 1.
18. Poco FC Dominion (FVSL) (last week's ranking: not ranked). The FVSL Poco side draws back into these rankings after a resounding 4-2 win over Delta United on the weekend. Now sixth place in FVSL.
19. Roma (NSCL) (last week's ranking: 17). Roma drops again after another in a series of NSCL postponements, and as such, are currently the lone representative of their league in this week's rankings.
20. Coquitlam Metro-Ford Rovers (VMSL) (last week's ranking: not ranked).
This is the debut of MF in this year's rankings. Showing some signs of life after a narrow 1-0 loss to PCOV on the weekend. Currently ninth spot in VMSL, two points ahead of BYE.

That is it for this week. Thanks to those who voted last week.

[QUOTEWhere are CCB Shooting Stars based out of?

CCB Shooting Stars are now the fallen stars as it appears they have folded as the standing now show a 5-0 win for thier opponents for the rest of the schedule

Staff are testing out some new soft wear. Ok enough about their winter flannel undies. Sometime over the holidays. Stay tuned.

Preliminary reports from staff are that Poco will stay #1 after pounding Shaheen today. There may be some other moves though, stay tuned as permutations are running.

And there is nothing wrong with pounding Shaheen.
