I highly recommend this establishment. It reminded me of someone's old school basement with a lot of Eastern Canadian beer memorabilia plastered all over the walls. The booze (not that I drank) and the food was really reasonable.
"We first opened in 1998 as "The Newfie Tap & Grill"
The BC liquor laws said NO to the word "Tap" in our name!!!!
We hate the ridiculous BC liquor laws!!!!
We chose "Atlantic" to include all our East Coast neighbours
So we moved the "r" from Grill to Tap & got the "Trap & Gill"
Our seafood comes in live on ice from PEI & Nova Scotia
We have live bands on Thursday & Saturday - & it's FREE
We also have restaurants in Calgary & Edmonton, Alberta
We sell "Trap" clothing: t-shirts, baby tee's, & ball caps
We have a catering menu for large parties
We "import" beer from Newfoundland, Nova Scotia & New Brunswick
We're always looking for East Coast musicians for open mike nights
You can purchase personalized gift certificates from us
If you're from Atlantic Canada you get to eat and drink for FREE!!
JUST JOKING
!
Great times especially with the live Celtic music!
From Celtic to Folk, the bands at the Trap will have you tapping your toes and singing along with the good times every Thursday and Saturday night. No Cover charge for the great live entertainment so come on down for a taste of our East Coast hospitality.

On the corner of Davie and Seymour...

I strongly agree with SC's description. Was down there on Alexander Keith's 109th birthday last month and it was a tremendous occasion. Pretty much unlike any other bar I've been in in the city. Would also highly recommend heading down there on AK's 110th birthday as the lobster eating contest that I participated in was to become an annual event. That and the fact there were extremely hot birds dressed in old style bar wench costumes. And the beer. Lot's of beer.

OD, it's a wonder we don't hang out more often... You must be afraid of Cougars.

We also need to take advantage of our designated driver before his time is up ;)
